Shipped out far too early in Roy's reign....never gave him a chance. We're crying out for players of his pedigree at the moment. However, we all know Roy only likes 2 or 3 attacking players in his team

Bloody crazy to loan the guy out - we've basically given him away on a free for the season. If this was Roy's decision that should be a sacking offence right there. Madness. As others have said, he started showing glimpses of class towards the end of last season. He deserved a chance this year.

There is no way we should be held to ransom by Juventus on this. Would be happy to see him return.

Agreed : Juventus can **** themselves. And Roy is truly the most senile manager in World Football. He's been managing for 35 years and yet knows **** all. What he did with Aquilani and Insua and replacing them with average players (Meireles and Konchesky) is truly mindless.

I couldn't agree more. Extremely poor business on our part and I too would love to see him come back. He wasn't given a chance to show his worth and hopefully if he does come back we will have a new manager that will be able to truly test his skills.

agree, but aquilani and insua are average as well, but you got the point..

no one will be anything with that old duffer Hodgson in charge and its rumoured that Klinsman is being lined up by Henry's group to take over. He mustve turned on a few people at those USA swingers parties being kinky German n all

So Aquilani deserves a chance but Meireles doesn't? Weird way of thinking there

Cracking goal today, only saw the highlights but he looked rather prominent. That goal, coupled with a very good performance against Inter, and it makes me cringe so much looking at the state of our midfield. Love him or hate him any one can see he brings something to the table, which is a lot more than you can say about any of our midfielders.

A midfield three of gerrard, meireles and aquilani would be nice. Add babel and cole on the wings, torres up top, glen at rb, Kelly lb and carra and agger with pepe in goal and that's a decent team.
                    Forwards.......

Bags of creativity there but who would do the defending?

Yeah, we'd get torn apart with those 3. Although, I suppose it couldn't be much worse than the midfield we have at the moment.

La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Juventus are beginning to have serious doubts about spending the €16.5million required to make Alberto Aquilani’s move from Liverpool permanent in the summer. Aquilani is apparently demanding €3.5m per season but Juve general manager Giuseppe Marotta is only willing to give him €2.5m, according to the Italian newspaper. The availability of a cheaper option in Andrea Pirlo, who is available on a Bosman free transfer in the summer from AC Milan, has also complicated matters as although the 31 year old’s wages would be more, they wouldn’t have to shell out a transfer fee too.

                            Negotiation tactics, methinks.

If we dont sell him to Juve, i think we may do well to even get £10m for him. We could do with the money to put in our kitty.

If they don't want to honour the pre-agreed price then they can **** off, have him back and see what happens.

Too often we've had our pants pulled down and been given a seeing to by other clubs, hopefully those days are now gone and if he goes it's on the terms we agreed.

And if the issue is simply of wages, they can **** off with regards to the transfer fee.
