He can do it all. Can pass, can dribble, dangerous right foot, not afraid to shot, can tackle, read plays well, very smart and creative, attack minded, etc.

Overall very good box-to-box player. My only concern is how long will take him to adopt to PL which is definitely different league than where he came from.

The way I see him, he plays in a very similar way to Masch in that he’s a hard working, combative midfielder but not as destructive, spot-on tackler and imposing as Monster. On other hand, he does have attacking instincts, ball control and somewhat passing abilities that Stevie and Habi possess.

He is unlike any of our current players.

If you want to compare him to anyone think of an early Steven Gerrard under Houllier, but more disciplined and less precocious.

Will be interesting to see how he fits into a 4231.

Sorry, I meant I wonder how he will play the role of DM.

For instances, Lucas and Masch always sat back. Rafas great idea of Aquilani was to have him breaking forward and linking the midfield to the attack whilst Masch linked the defence to the midfield.

I wonder if Meireles will take up the role Aquilani was oringinally brought in for, or will he be aksed to sit back, or will he alternate on who goes forward with the other DM?

I guess that brings me nicely onto my other question, as to when everyone is fit, will Joe Cole start behind the striker or will Gerrard?

Because if it is Cole behind Torres, that could mean Stevie in CM and Meireles either sitting back or alternating.

If it is Gerrard behind Torres, it could mean Meireles being the link to the attack with Poulsen sitting.
