That's not true right now - we're making an assessment of what he might be able to do at LFC based on what we know. Of course in time his results with us will be all that matters - no-one is saying the fact he had a **** away record with Fulham means he should be sacked from LFC but it's not a great source of hope and enthusiasm, is it?Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostWhat he did in the past has nothing to do with anything. I could trun around and say Fulham put great performances in away from home in Europe. I could say in his time coaching elsewhere his away record has been fine.
His away record with Blackburn was bad, but so was his home record and that was why he got the sack.
Fulham do better at home like all teams, bur more so because the Cottage is a stadium that is right on top of you and effects the game more than other grounds, in much the way The Dell did for Southampton. No coincidence they got relegated when they got a nice shiny new stadium.
His away record with Liverpool is poor as we've played Birmingham (not lost at home in a year) Man City (title challenging home record last season) and Man Utd (awesome home record). I'm not overly worried by those results. I will be worried if we don't get minimum 11 points (But I want 13 to be happy) from our next 15 and if we fail to win away from home against poorer opposition.
The bits about Fulham and Blackburn and Southampton (yes, I get your point) is sophistry really. It's a clever enough argument but I'm not convinced it explains away all those worrying features in his record.
I have more sympathy with your comments on his away record with Liverpool. I can see why you say it's poor but it's only three games so I think you're being a bit harsh in your assessment.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Hodgson took a relegation threatened team to a Europa League Final. You could say he turned the home form around as the priority of a relegation fodder team is to win your home games and get the odd point away from home. He did that and Fulham were always more than safe. Where Fulham finished is amazing for them and as such I will argue he got the balance RIGHT.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostThat's not true right now - we're making an assessment of what he might be able to do at LFC based on what we know. His start as liverpool manager has been very tough, and the results have been poor. To get only 2 points from Brum, Man Utd, Arsenal and Man City is poor. People point it could have been better had Reina held on, had Carra jumped with Berba. Correct.
But we were down to ten men v Arsenal and can count ourselves lucky we got a point. V West Brom we were lucky to win and against Brum we were very lucky to get a point. We could easily have had more points, but we could easily at this point in time be sitting on 0 points. We've been that bad.
But I expected a poor start and I now expect things to pick up. We'll see where we are in 5 premier league games time. Win them and we'll be in 4th place. And I see no reason whey we can't win them all. After Chelsea at Anfield we then have another run of games we should be looking at getting wins from, in about a 9 game streak the only difficult games we get are Spurs away and Villa at home.
So if we are in 4th place by the Chelsea game, I think we could easily be sitting confortably in 4th place come the opening of the January transfer market. If we have new owners we could splash the cash and ensure 4th.
Time will tell.Forwards.......

he's a victim of his versatality and that's why he's not starting. Konchesky arrived unfit and as he's nursing him in he needs Agger as back up, as the other LB is in his usual position on the treatment table.Originally posted by Neil Young View Post

I just can't see him wanting us to hoof the ball that is utter ****e as is this article. The ball was very rarely out of play yesterday and that was from both teams.
It's just a case of us applying more pressure and pressurizing the opposition now, that's what we need more of, similar to what Utd did to us in a way. That and a bit more composure and we'll start to see a decent team again.

Now now kojak, i didnt say we were playing hoof ball did i? Im talking about the lack of ambition in playing the ball out of defence, bringing the defence into attack which according to this is now not part of woys philosophy.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postyep thats is Miss Marple you've cracked it.
Did you watch the game yesterday? How much hoofing did we do in defence? Very little in comparison to some of our past performances. If there was a game I'd put money on us hoofing the ****ing thing it was yesterday but on the whole we didn't. That alone should tell you this is bollocks.

Skrtel is not a bad player and he's a long way from being a disaster, as has been pictured in here.
****ing disgusts me the abuse Skrtel gets.
It's way ott.
