Rafa did a good job last year considering the players we lost due to injury; given the same situation if we lost key players this year due to injury Roy would simply lose the plot and we would be as good as a relegation team.

Er, no he didn't, he did awful. I don't think Roy would have done any better. But he certainly didn't do a good job, and im one of Rafa's biggest fans. Its his fault Alonso went, its his fault we didn't have Striker cover.

After Keane was sold, those money was disappeared.

I dont think the blame can be laid anywhere apart from his door. We could have not bothered with Aqua. He knew we needed a striker. But didn't act quickly. In all of this, i think we can say one thing of the owners. They have not tried to get involved in picking the team and buying players. Keane is a grey area id admit. But Rafa could have said no and put his foot down about him.

I don't rate Roy myself, but I've been wrong before football wise so I could be wrong this time. We are stuck with him at least until we get new owners so we'll see what happens in the mean time.

He has winnable league games coming up and if he goes and wins the next four we could well be having to have a re think about his ability as manager of the club.

Even with wins against Blackpool and Everton things will be looking up. Win the derby and he'll get a lot of fan support for that alone and from there is the chance to build on things.

Liverpool still have many good players and so the chance for things to turn on their head are always there.

This nonsense of surrendering possession and holding at the 18 yard box is madness and frankly its a double dose of insanity because we are crap in the air

We should be pressing teams and closing them down (working hard), not letting them play with it till they get to our penalty box. Even then we are standing off them and letting them put crosses in which is suicidal

This to me is the first building block needed

However Roy doesnt know how to do that hes admitted that himself to the guy who heckled him

If he doesnt know how to instill passion and commitment in the players he shouldnt be in the job

That's nothing against Hodgson, in this particular matter, I just believe Rafa was the best person to get us out of the mess he was slightly responsible for himself.

Whilst I agree he ****ed up majorly with Alonso, and the purchase of Aquilani, I really cannot see how he couldve not bought another CM at that stage. Reports are that he was after Tevez at the beginning of that summer until the Keane money was pulled. I don't think he is even 1
10% responsible for us not having brought in another striker cos he had to beg for £1.5m for Krgiakos so there was no money left.

Criticise him for the poor choice if replacement CM by all means, but you're criticising him for the same thing twice then to complain about the lack of striker- that is G&H's fault alone.

What my point was, is that we had bodies in CM, not however up front. We had a young Ngog and a injury prone Torres. Clearly this is the area that needed strengthening. It was his job to sort the team. Insted of getting a striker, we got a injured and injury prone CM.

Poor choice by Rafa, and ultimately I think cost him the job.
