Yep, its not champagne time yet, but this is still the best news we've had in some considerable time.


As an aside, I've always been a bit troubled by the "yanks" stuff, there's a national tendancy over here towards anti-americanism anyway, and H&G have only helped solidify that for most LFC fans. Really though, its kinda racist to tar everyone of any nationality with the same brush. I know its not meant that way by most people, but a little bit of restraint in some quarters with regards to such language would be appreciated

I went with I just don't know anymore, I think that it's a case of time will tell. Obviously I'll be glad to see the back of Hicks and Gillett, but as for how the new owners will be we can only judge in time. The H&G era started with promise, initially there was no debt on the club from their purchase and we had a decent summer budget in the first year, before things went tits up big time.

Next - Asia. The only thing IMO that came out of the Kenny Huang thing, is the potential untapped goldmine in Asia. I'd have loved to see us be the one to break it

Those 2 aside, what better owners than someone already massively entrenched in the sporting industry?!

I don't want an owner to come in and say we'll do everything. Look what happened last time. I'd much rather someone come in and pay off the debt, and then run us as a sustainable business model.

Debt due to club purchase? **** that.

Got to say, I'm pretty pleased. I don't know that much, make that anything, about baseball; but from reading up on the Red Sox and the owners, sounds to me like we might just end up in decent hands after all
