More than the supporters, it's the players' decision/opinion that the board cares for and I'll still say this, the majority of the senior players wanted him out (including Reina and Torres) and that's why he was out.

You could have seen all you could have with your crystal ball but it was b/w him and the senior players.

Moan abt hiring Roy not letting Rafa go. If he soo didn't want to go, he could have made an issue out of it like he did with the owners. He didn't. He ust accepted the pay off and moved on. Deep inside he wanted to leave and he did it

It's inevitable that Roy will be on the new owner's agenda and if they chose to look for another manager then LFC is now a better prospect and some of the better quality managers would probably be back in the frame.

Looking positively with achange of manager and within a season Spurs moved from bottom to top 4
ok, deschamps turned us down, but pellegrini came to the table.

So true, the amount of fans I know who wanted Rafa gone because they thought we'd get Mourinho in is unbelievable. Soon changed their tune when we got Roy.

The bottom line is you should never sack a manager if you dont have anyone better to replace him with

Whether thats Rafa, Roy or whoever that shouldnt change

The time was right for Rafa to go. The problem is we appointed the wrong man to replace him.

we had a great manager who ost his mojo, and he's been replaced by ****.

                            2nd--over-achievement

                            7th--bad season

19th--manager dragging the playing staff down
Dave, I'm just not convinced at the minute that anyone would have got us higher last year. 7th wasn't good enough and it's inexcusable for a club like us to be in that position. Then there was the farce with Aquilani too, given our threadbare squad and lack of resources at the time that was a hell of a gamble that didn't work out.

The season we came second was something else. When you look at the start of that season we got results where we largely played ****. Didn't we come from behind in half of our first 10 games? I think our inability to break teams down at home showed the limitations of the squad too. The big difference was that when everyone was fit and flying our first team was phenomenal, and they were fit most of the year. Last year they weren't hence our struggles. Of course Rafa's habit of padding out the squad with **** proved to be most unhelpful.

But yeah. I'm still not entirely convinced that Rafa is still the man we should have in charge but I really, really wish that we were in a position to find out for sure! Roy is just not good enough! His interview that he just gave Sky was a total joke!
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Roy is terrible and the moment he is out of our club I will finally feel the cloud lift, but Roy Is Awful = Rafa Is The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread is total kneejerkery.
Have we taken some time off and ever considered the fact that RAFA played the team the way he did last season as to only bring the value of the team down so that we could have ridden the YANKS off sooner??

Its totally mind boggling to be scoring for the fun of it at the end of the season where we finished 2nd, and then suddenly all going down the drain the very next season. Rafa could have thought that continuing with the way we played in 08/09 into 09/10 would have just kept the yanks cose nobody would have wanted to buy us at the price they wanted....and he would never had been able to take us one step further. So rather than juz sit around and do nothing, he probably thot " Feck it, i'll juz take this on my shoulders, and see wat happens when we dun finish in the top 4.... the club's value will dip, and the yanks will be out, and all will be good again " !!!

Could have been exactly why he screwd things up for us on purpose last season. Unfortunately, it backfired on him, players turned on him (the same lot that was happy wif him in 08/09) and he got the sack....

                              Well, tats juz my 2cents.

End of the day, I was sad to see him go, and would really loved to have him given another chance with the proper cheque book.

Oh....and Roy is juz not good enuf for a club of our stature !!! So yes, pls leave.

                                Where's this from please?

Most of the quotes I've read seem to indicate Rafa had had the fight sucked out of him last season, and that it was becoming inevitable he was going to move on. That could have had just as much a bearing on players wishes to go, as it's porbably the same reasons as why Rafa had thought he'd lost the fight.

Remember, we've had 5 transfer windows where we've only bought once we'd sold. No injection of financial confidence at all. And when you know you're in the shop window....

I wonder what these players who wanted him out think of Roy's (the size of a planet) tactical accumin now?
