Have we taken some time off and ever considered the fact that RAFA played the team the way he did last season as to only bring the value of the team down so that we could have ridden the YANKS off sooner??
Its totally mind boggling to be scoring for the fun of it at the end of the season where we finished 2nd, and then suddenly all going down the drain the very next season. Rafa could have thought that continuing with the way we played in 08/09 into 09/10 would have just kept the yanks cose nobody would have wanted to buy us at the price they wanted....and he would never had been able to take us one step further. So rather than juz sit around and do nothing, he probably thot " Feck it, i'll juz take this on my shoulders, and see wat happens when we dun finish in the top 4.... the club's value will dip, and the yanks will be out, and all will be good again " !!!
Could have been exactly why he screwd things up for us on purpose last season. Unfortunately, it backfired on him, players turned on him (the same lot that was happy wif him in 08/09) and he got the sack....
Well, tats juz my 2cents.
End of the day, I was sad to see him go, and would really loved to have him given another chance with the proper cheque book.
Oh....and Roy is juz not good enuf for a club of our stature !!! So yes, pls leave.
Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom- 2 years1year 0.5 years
Then there was the farce with Aquilani too, given our threadbare squad and lack of resources at the time that was a hell of a gamble that didn't work out.
I think with Aquilani, there were two things that got that deal, one, we would fix him up, and more importantly, the sale was in installments. Otherwise, I think we were struggling to get anyone interested in joining Liverpool. Especially with City and Spurs shelling out money.
Glen Johnson, was probably more about recouping money from Peter Crouch before Portsmouth went into administration.

that's disrespectful to rafa to even suggest that in my book.
Apologies to everyone for the "****ing cluess" remark. It was OTT. Not a very intelligent comeback though.
Yea,I agree.Heat of the moment.

'Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It is terribly simple.'
Nonsence.People may have wanted change but they didnt ask for a mid table team manager in charge, did they?
We are a top team with world class players,we need a world class manager to lead us.FFS,he has made the best striker in the world look like sean Dundee!
Your exactly right. It wasn't exactly a minority that lost faith in Rafa and between the two now it's clearly Rafa over Roy. But if a better decision was made on who was to take over as manager then Rafa wouldn't even be getting a mention.
Nothing disrespectful. I know it sounds crazy. There's loads of stories out there as to why we ended 7th last season. N this is just my opinion, as much as it sounds like total bollocks.

Yeah, I agree on the point. I still think it was misguided though, although not as misguided as the decision to ship him out this season. We could really do with a bit of creativity at the minute.
So he ships out Insua and Aquilani, we don't get any cash then we spend 9 million of Poulson and Kochensky to replace them. Farcical!
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Back to topic..... Roy needs to go. Now.
rafa's far too intelligent for such a plain stupid plan because the would only ever lead to his dismissal, simple as. and it would damage his reputation as a professional manager beyond repair.
The bottom line is you should never sack a manager if you dont have anyone better to replace him with
Whether thats Rafa, Roy or whoever that shouldnt change
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
I can't imagine if this continues NESV will stick with Roy, let alone give him a warchest come January.
Roy out and Kenny as interim would make more sense. If it works - give Kenny some money, if it doesn't, get someone world class in.
It's inevitable that Roy will be on the new owner's agenda and if they chose to look for another manager then LFC is now a better prospect and some of the better quality managers would probably be back in the frame.
This is for all of you complete fools who helped hound Rafa out of the club, you know who you are.
You are all directly responsible for the utter mess we're in on the pitch now.
You brought this on, and I hope you feel proud of yourselves
How would you feel about feeling 7th now you idiots? You'd all jizz in your pants for a 7th place finish now wouldn't you?
If you'd all been sensible enough to see the bigger picture back then and get behind Rafa he'd still be here. H&G couldn't find a way to force him out until you lot all turned on him. The second the fans turned he was gone in a flash.
If we'd backed him we'd still have one of the best managers in the world at the club, new owners, and positivity all around the club, Rafa would finally have been able to go for his first choice signings etc.
Instead we're in the worst shape since prior to Shankly and you're directly to blame for it
New owners, but until Roy's gone well.........IAFN.
