We need someone to come in and will have the respect of the players from day 1. Who better than our greatest ever player and one of our greatest managers.

Come on lads. I know we are all well and truly ****ed off but the amount of insults getting chucked around at each other is stupid. there's a point where it goes past a laugh.

I don't think anyone can say truthfully there wasn't moments where Rafa made a decision that left them saying 'what the ****?' because some things he did do didn't seem to make complete sense

there is no doubt in my mind however he is a fantastic manager, he just seemed to work in strange ways sometimes.

sometimes it takes something like Roys appointment for people to realize that maybe they judged Rafa a little to harshly at the time, if we thought 7th was bad 19th is beyond unthinkable.

Im not 100% against the reappointment of Rafa, should a chance of it happening ever arise he will always be in my heart as a great Liverpool manager. But IMO we need some new blood, someone who is ambitious and willing to take a risk to, send us back to beautiful football the way Liverpool should be playing.

Kenny will always be a legend no matter what

Oh and as for the sentiment that Kenny has been out of the game too long I'll say this

If you have a formula one car and you wanted to win a race

Would you pick the now retired Nigel Mansell or some bloke whose best achievement was managing to get a go-kart round the track without crashing
Bad analogy - Schumacher came back, best ever record in F1, and he's been destroyed because he's out of touch with how the cars have developed.

But, I want Kenny back in place of this shambles of a manager. ASAP.

Thats why we should have gone for Kenny and thats why we should go for Kenny short term now

He commands HUGE respect in Anfield he wont be blown off course by Carragher or Gerrard they will have to toe the line they would never win a popularity contest against Kenny, beside which he has a track record as a player and manager that dwarfs their achievements

The fans would instantly be lifted and frankly I think hed actually get us doing what we need to be doing

That is being on the front foot rather than standing off teams

We only seem to get started when we go a couple of goals down and by then its too late

FFS Hodgson was only starting shouting at the players on or around 80 minutes

If Henry came out and said we are putting Kenny in charge from now until January or now until the summer when we will review it again then that is the get out in case things go wrong. There will then be no shame if it goes tits up Kenny can go back to the academy and carry on

We just cant let the current situation continue
Can't disagree with a single word of this.

The ONLY reason to why Fergie is so successful is that he is allowed complete power and can kick out whoever he want, even if that player happens to be the best player at the club. No player is allowed to get bigger than the manager. He is now in a fight with Rooney and that will hurt them short term but will gain them long term because he will still be THE BOSS.

If you want to have a successful team then the manager must be the one with complete power. He can of course still chat around with the players but he is the one that need to be THE BOSS.

In hindsight you always have 20/20 vision. Benitez contributed to his own downfall. £54m on Keane, Johnson and Aquaman - he picked the targets, and paid the price. I only ever want him back at Anfield in the away dugout.

He got rid of Keane, didn't have the chance to see the best of Aquilani and paid the going fee for an England international who was sensational before he got injured.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

A couple of articles I'd like to throw into all this. They're a few months old.

I certainly considered Rafa Benitez a success.

Rafa won the Champions League in Istanbul and the FA Cup in Cardiff. In losing to AC Milan in the Champions League final of 2007, I actually thought Liverpool looked better than they did in Istanbul.

People talked about whether Rafa had been given enough money for transfers but the Liverpool board will always give as much as it can.

It’s not in the club’s interests to restrict the manager and the team. All managers would like more. But I felt the board did as much as they could financially for Rafa.

I was still surprised he went. Not too many people felt much resentment towards Rafa for going. The fans supported him because they support the position of the manager at Liverpool. They are loyal to the chair, especially in times of trouble. Rafa certainly wasn’t disliked.

Some of the critics might have perceived him as cold but every time I was with him, we’d have a chuckle, tell a few stories. Rafa’s good company.

It’s important to understand that Rafa Benitez is obsessed with only two things: family and football. After games, Rafa was straight on to the video, analysing play on the way back on the coach. He works an awful lot and takes very little time off.

Maybe he should have rested more, although the fresh challenge of Inter Milan must have felt as good as a holiday for him.

Rafa is not without feeling. He made a fantastic gesture to the Hillsborough Families Support Group with the huge donation he made to help them with their cause.

                                Rafa backs Dalglish for Anfield

Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has backed Kenny Dalglish to succeed him in the Anfield hot seat.

Benitez left the club earlier this month after a season of bad form and mounting pressure.

Since his departure, Fulham boss Roy Hodgeson and former Reds striker and manager Dalglish have emerged as favourites for the job.

And Benitez says Dalglish has his full support for the position.

“I think they should look at Kenny Dalglish,” he said in The Guardian. “He is the best man for the job. The owners should listen to the fans because they are unhappy. No one knows the club better than Dalglish and he would be perfect there. He wants the job and in my opinion should get it.”

Benitez added that it was a tough decision to walk out of the club, signing in as the new Inter Milan boss just days later.

“It was difficult to leave Liverpool after six years working there. I had amazing times there,” he said. “Also my daughter is seven, she lived most of her life there. It’s not easy but things changed so I needed to move and I had the perfect opportunity to come to Inter. The club was fantastic, the fans amazing so it was a really sad day when I had to go but things changed so it was obvious I had to do it.”
