Whilst i'm not intending this in a disrespectful way, there's no other way of putting it - you're boring me now.Originally posted by danperkins View PostAre u for ****ing real
get outta here craig!!!
Fair enough then, name me a good player Rafa signed in his last 2 season at LFC?
But i'll entertain you one last time...
Johnson, Kyrgiakos, Maxi, N'Gog and Aquilani were all good, within the context of the constraints Rafa had to deal with.
You wont agree though, because you're one of those kids who thinks if a player isnt a world class superstar like messi, then he's no good and has no value.

Mate, he never had a meagre budget at all.Originally posted by barnes10 View PostIn the interest of preserving other threads can we have one thread that debates rafa and his legacy and the rights/wrongs of his sacking?
If we don't, since the biggest issue is roy, every thread will become a 'shouldnt have got rid of rafa' argument.
In my view, sacking rafa was the gashest of gash decisions we have ever made. He was the best manager we have had since Dalglish and possibly Paisley. Anyone coming after Shanks basically inherited real top quality. Rafa inherited gerrard and carragher and even they seem to be too full of themselves.
rafa was a builder of a club not a redknapp 'blow it all on a 1st 11 for 4 years' type that the media is having a go at. He was setting up for a dynasty
rafa transformed our club on a meagre budget
rafa was tactically smarter than pretty much all the other managers in europe
rafa got the club, its soul and us fans
rafa was nobody's bitch. not fergies, not stevies, not carras, not owens, not journos and certainly not our yank tw@t owners
rafa - at our peak - got us playing the best football i have seen a modern team play. we were so unbelievably good during the second half of the 08-09 season.
rafa deserved to be replaced by top class. not some ****ing nobody journeyman. My kebab comes with chilli sauce

Maxi - free transfer and Argentine international at the WC. You expected Messi?Originally posted by danperkins View PostI'm boring with the facts alright yeah good one.

Johnson - England RB, going through a **** phase, like most.
Aquilani - never really had the chance to prove himself.
Kyrgiakos - cost next to nothing and gave us much needed aerial presence at the back. Again, you must've expected Sergio Ramos.
In short, like i said, you're a kid who thinks unless it's Messi's and Ronaldo's, they cant be good players. Grow up and go away.

agree with all of the above. I'm still a ardent Rafa supporter and wish he is still here however this topic is done to its death. Rafa is gone and won't be back in the near future. Some part of me hope it's not the end between Liverpool and Rafa and wish he will be back after a season or two. Let's focus on the future and get rid of Roy first.

Well you spent 6 months slating Rafa at every occasion last year so I'll take it as read you didnt like himOriginally posted by danperkins View PostSo i hated Rafa now did i?
who said that ****? Thanks for putting those words in my mouth
I'm am no fan of both managers, you are a staunch Rafa fan and from what i can read since Roys appointment and your posts you don't have alot love for Roy as you have been campaigning to out him ever since he got his foot in the door so you'l have to excuse me if i take your completely biased opinions about Rafa with a bit of a pinch.
So equally you are just as biased as I am
To suggest any differently is hypocritical but then you specialise in that dont you

Maybe not but he never had the financial backing such as those of Chelsea, Man C and Manure as well. He had us punching above the weight for whatever budget he was given.Originally posted by saj View PostMate, he never had a meagre budget at all.
We could have gotten Alves and Simao....things might have been different if we got both Keane and Barry....or not selling in order to buy.

The marginal cost of players rises exponentially where as the marginal benefit of players follows the law of diminishing return where the more you pay the less the value. so naturally the most valuable players are those who cost a few mil and the difference in quality between players who cost 1 to 8 mil isnt all that large from 8-15 mil. Just because the Greek was cheap doesn't mean he wasn't good value.96 Never Forgotten

Also, as Craig touched on, people go on about Rafa's judgement of a player, citing the likes of Kyrgiakos and Ngog as examples.
They cost £3m between them, £3m for the pair. If Rafa had had the "luxury" of being able to spend more than loose change on a much-needed striker and 4th choice centre back, he sure as **** wouldn't have been shopping in the bargain bucket. As it was he found two players who have done alright, one experienced player who has been excellent for us, and a young kid who has done very well while shouldering a huge responsibility.
But LDP throws them on his little list and subjects them to ridicule, because they're not Puyol and Aguero. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Same with Collymore yesterday. "These players are not good enough at the highest level. Jovanovic, Lucas, Maxi...."Originally posted by Shaggy View Post

Well yeah, funny that isnt it Stan? Which 3 players, at a combined cost of £6m are 'good enough at the highest level' ?

People seem to pick out certain things to suit what they are saying then ignore the rest as it might throw a spanner in the works. I have admitted on dozens of occassions that Rafa was and is a great manager, a superb european manager. I felt that he could not deliver in England and that his management style was much better suited to the European game, hence his success in Europe. I have never said i hated the man or otherwise just that i didn't want him as our manager for the good of the club.
Didn't want Hodsgon either but sure i'm only a supporter like you, our opinions mean **** all but we voice them anyways.

My criticisms of him have only ever been based on football
My general perception of him as a person has always been that hes a "nice guy" although I am even losing respect for him on that score after his dreadful interviews of recent weeksBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
