I'm not changing my mind yet, yes we have put in decent prerformances in the last few games, but two of those were against two abysmal teams in Villa and West Ham, the third (Spurs) was a decent performance (in comparison to what we had served up previously) but we still failed to get a result. Before that we had the insipid performances and dire results against Wigan and Stoke.

We did create a lot of chances against Spurs but I don't think they are that good anyway, their defending is normally atrocious. Still, I've just had a look at the league table and we're only 10 points off the top!Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI'm not changing my mind yet, yes we have put in decent prerformances in the last few games, but two of those were against two abysmal teams in Villa and West Ham, the third (Spurs) was a decent performance (in comparison to what we had served up previously) but we still failed to get a result. Are we winning?

...and only 10 points away from the bottomThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

You look at the matches were we have "played well"Originally posted by PC Plod View PostJesus, a couple of half-decent home wins against absolute ****e and some people are accepting Bodge. We still sit deep, invite pressure and don't press the ball. He still spouts ****e.
His constant lowering of expectations is doing the trick obviously. Why shouldn't we be doing a lot better than lay year when that's the reason Rafa was (allegedly) sacked? Bodge has had the Masher money to reinvest- he was supposed to revitalise us.
Gray's ludicrous attempt to vindicate Bodge by saying we were closer yo the top than last year sums it up- the league this year is ****, we should be right up there challenging for 4th and would have been even if we were as poor as last year.
They have been invariably against teams that havent closed us down have been awful themselves in possession
Credit were credits due you can only beat what is put in front of you but the last few teams have been utter ****eBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Spurs are an open team though - wide openOriginally posted by NigelLG View PostWe did create a lot of chances against Spurs but I don't think they are that good anyway, their defending is normally atrocious. Still, I've just had a look at the league table and we're only 10 points off the top!
Seriously look at our better performances they have been when there is little or no pressure invited on us when we are in possession
Even against those teams when we have won Blackburn, West Ham, Chelsea, Villa we have struggled in the second periods when the opposition have raised their game a notch
Against anyone who closes us down and puts pressure on us we have been utter wankBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Really dislike that saying, i know it's true in a literal way, but, who's put infront of you and how they play does have a huge amount to do with how well you as a team have had to play to win, it's a bit of an odd saying really, as all it usually means is...your opponents have been dire.Originally posted by Lecter View PostYou look at the matches were we have "played well"

Did anyone see Keys and Gray's pathetic attempt to try and champion Roy over Rafa last night?
Mentioned something about us 'only' being 10 points off top spot - and taking great joy in telling everyone how, at the same stage last season, we were 13 points off top spot.
"They're closer" remarked Gray, in that emphatic tone that he has, which tries to tap the viewer on the shoulder and say 'Hey listen, I am serious'. "Oh yes, closer" added Keys, in a 'chimp desperately trying to please his master' style. The cringe factor was only exceeded by the interview they conducted with Hodgson.

No, you're stupid to state that you'd still want him sacked if he won 20 games on the bounce.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostOnly if it really happens. Do you think it's stupid to state it won't?
Obviously it wont happen, but when you use the preposition 'if', you're speaking in the event of it happening.
