I have to agree, i like the fact that NESV are not panicking in public or making some rash snap decision. They are handling this in a pre H&G in private manner which is how it should be.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThink you'd be a tad wrong on that
But keep believing it if it makes you feel better
A large number of people seem to have condemned them already for being slow to react but they have made no comments on the situation & are handling it in house.
There is no point firing him without a plan in place, if you want quick, unplanned, public grandstanding decision ask for fat Tom hicks back and you'll have your man

I think that the final league position is irrelevant if we can't finish 4th.
More important is that we finish the season strongly and on a high. This will show we mean business for next season and will convince players to stay and join. This is why the selection of the next manager is so important.
I still stand by the fact Hodgson should have walked a long time ago. He's been a dead man walking for some time now and everybody knows that in situations like that the players will under perform.
Looking at the points accumalated by the teams from 2nd-5th, we really did have a great chance of finishing in the top 4 this year. I hope the standard is as poor next year. Imagine if we'd have peaked this season instead of 08/09. We'd have ****ing walked the league.
But we move on. This is the present, no point dwelling on the past. I just hope the LFC managers job still has the same pulling power as it once had. With good owners a top manager could really lead a strong revival with some good buys in the summer.Forwards.......

I think they should have sacked him sooner and brought in a temporary boss a lot sooner whilst they seeked out a long term option. It would have been no guarantee of success, but it would have been better than knowing we were going to fail.Originally posted by gaz01 View PostThere is no point firing him without a plan in place, if you want quick, unplanned, public grandstanding decision ask for fat Tom hicks back and you'll have your manForwards.......

Thing is, I don't think he's been spoken to by the owners at all. It seems everyone knows but he's in the dark and allowed to continue. That's an awful situation, it's untenable and the pressure will grow and grow, not just on him but on the players as well. Whatever the intentions of the owners, which I'm sure are good and genuine, it's an awfully badly managed situation and this needs sorted soon. It's also a bit of a catch 22 situation, because they're equally under enormous pressure to show leadership but it's far from ideal. We've had our fair share of catastrophic decisions to date and our next one (two if you take into consideration we are after a new CEO as well) have to be the right ones. Are we winning?

**** off.
Today the Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, said: "Roy Hodgson doesn't need to justify his record as a manager. His experience and performance level everywhere he's been have been terrific so I'm not going to get into that. We are in a situation where managers are getting fired and threatened to be fired. There's no point even discussing it. It's a very difficult industry these days. I feel for all those managers who are under pressure and have lost their jobs."

It's tough for Roy but he's being paid a lot of money to work in tough circumstances. I'm sure he didn't expect it to be a cake walk when he saw the players responding in pre season. Anyone else remeber that far back? Seems light years away now.
I remember seeing our pre season games and thinking how bad we were. At the time I just hoped we'd improve when we got our first team players back from the world cup. After a battling draw v Arsenal I was quite positive. As hsa been mentioned lately it was the Man City game that really showed how far we'd fallen.Forwards.......

No one expected any different. He loves the LMA Fergie and Roy is their top man from last season.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post**** off.
