Hard when there's 4 people arguing with you at once when my original point was that Rafa transfer record in last 2 seasons was woeful. Escalation apologies to Craig and to yourselfOriginally posted by Fernandinho View PostFFS LDP. I swear you have prescription glasses which you refuse to read. It was me nit picking not Craig and I admitted to it. I didn't even disagree with your point I simply said that the single point was wrong.
I guess you spend so much time arguing with everyone that as soon as somebody refuses something you say you get on the defensive.
And i'm perfectly happy to accept other peoples opinions wish the feeling was mutual with some people.

I am too, as you might have noted I accepted your point before about Wenger and Aquilani. I think in the last two season Rafa was even further limited. He didn't even get to sell to buy. He sold and got to buy with half the money practicallyOriginally posted by danperkins View PostHard when there's 4 people arguing with you at once when my original point was that Rafa transfer record in last 2 seasons was woeful. WTF? I'm not arguing for the sake of arguing. You said a couple of young players - there were 11 in your list.Originally posted by Havors View PostAnd where is Insua now? Money is money when its in short supply. Your focusing on a few youth players, just have a think about all the senior squad **** that was bought. You need to stop arguing with me for the sake of arguing. Im not wrong.
What the **** does it matter where Insua is now? Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Are you for real? I'm pulling you up on ****e. Today alone you have claimed:Originally posted by Havors View PostSo we didnt lose handsomely on players too? What is it with you and arguing for the sake of it?
- Cole has always been ****e for England on the left
- Cole was always a sub for Chelsea
- Only a couple of youth players featured on that list when in fact there were 11

Because we are talking about the quality of the signings and how the money & wages could have been spent better.... pay attention.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostWTF? I'm not arguing for the sake of arguing. You said a couple of young players - there were 11 in your list.

And you are including youth/Academy/reserve team signings, most of which were either free or cost peanuts - and most of which have been sold on for a profit. You are seriously talking about how money could've been better spent and you are including the likes of Gulacsi, Barragan, San Jose etc?Originally posted by Havors View PostBecause we are talking about the quality of the signings and how the money & wages could have been spent better.... pay attention. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

IMO i just feel that Rafa made bad moves in the market when we needed buys that were specific and on the money.
The Aqua buy was baffling and the money we paid for Glen Johnson was sickening. The thing that gets me most of all is that the dreaded LM position has just been filled with stop gap after stop gap, so far we've Kewell/Babel/Benny/Riera/Maxi/Jovo/Cole etc i just cannot comprehend why this position is constantly over looked, in a team that has lacked width for so long and with Kuyt added work rate but not much width and creativity surely the LM should have been priority? talk about a one dimensional team at the moment.
So many stop gaps and wastes on fees and wages and zero productivity in the end. Same with the LB position? And these are the positions that are glaring and have become obvious problematic areas that teams "are" targeting, now with Johnson at RB and his inability to defend that too is getting targeted. Now not only can we not score goals but our defense is an absolute shambles, which used to be unheard of until last season and this one.
As much as i think Roy is way way way out of his depth i feel for him as he has **** all time to set this right (thats not saying give him more time BTW) these areas IMO shold have been sorted years ago, hence my gripe with wasted funds on sub standard players, and all of these add up.Last edited by danperkins; 18-10-10, 04:59 PM.

??? i said cole was at his most affective coming off the bench for chelsea, not he was always a sub. he had a few good games for england on the left yes ill give you that.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAre you for real? I'm pulling you up on ****e. Today alone you have claimed:

there were only a few youth players on there the rest where senior squad! and thats not got anything to do with the price of fish either, i was just talking about the quality of the signings and how the money could have been spent better...
seriously you need to read what im saying before jumping to conclusions assumptions and feel the need to contradict everything i say. what makes your point of view gospel??

I don't get the Aqua buy was baffling comment. I take the point that he may have been a bad gamble but given our financial situation and the fact we needed a player to give a creative spark and link the team together (replacing Alonso) the requirement for a player with the potential to be a top quality ball player seems pretty glaring. Perhaps with the injury and coming from Italy the odds weren't good enough but surely the reasoning for that sort of signing is pretty clear, no?"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Now I'm confused. Kewell/Babel/Riera/Cole should all be as good as almost any team in the PL has as options for left. Surely the right has been a bigger problem for years.Originally posted by danperkins View Post

The thing is that when you buy San Jose for ~£300k and sell him for £3.5m it might appear to other eyes that that money had been invested wisely. There may well be a case for what you are saying but it was you who made it difficult to discern by mixing in examples that clearly flatly contradict your central thesis without explanation for why you think they should be considered in a different light.Originally posted by Havors View Post??? i said cole was at his most affective coming off the bench for chelsea, not he was always a sub. he had a few good games for england on the left yes ill give you that.

Well yes, going for a an attacking and skillful midfielder was a good idea, but I would suggest that choosing Aquilani was baffling. Surely you just don't buy an injured player with an history of injuries; you just don't.Originally posted by dww View PostI don't get the Aqua buy was baffling comment.
