Liverpool Manager Roy Hodgson Attacks Rafael Benitez’s Big Money Signings And Plans January Arrivals
Boss wary of January transfer window (He's not the only one)
By Matt Monaghan

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has insisted he will use the January market to land players at the "right price" and attacked Rafael Benitez's transfer record.
Hodgson, 63, has endured a disastrous start to his Anfield career as his side currently sit in the Premier League relegation zone. Reports have emerged this week, however, that owners New England Sports Ventures are prepared to sanction a fresh wave of investment in players as long as they represent future value.
Speaking to the club's official website, Hodgson hoped to compete with "Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter" for the right calibre of stars to revitalise his squad.
"If we want the right quality, we have got to be prepared to pay the right price," the ex-Fulham boss said.
"The owners know that perfectly well. We have got to make certain that if we go out and spend £20m, we are getting a £20m player.
"We want to be attracting the players that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter are chasing. It would be nice to think that we can shop at a high level.
"I'm like all managers in that I'm wary of the January transfer window. I think it can be dangerous as clubs try to correct mistakes. (hopefully a big mistake will be rectified before then, matey, and you will be gone)
"But, having said that, we are going to be very interested in trying to improve our squad in January. There is no question about that. I am sure we will sign players." (So shut the **** up then
)
Hodgson added: "What I would hope to do is get this group of players playing well enough so we don't need to panic. (Just **** off you witless prat).
"Then I can say to the owners, 'If we are going to spend a lot of money, let's get the right man, and I'll go quietly.'
"I don't want to spend half the money that might be available on someone for the sake of buying when the player we actually want might not be available until the summer. (Cocksucker)
"The lucky thing is that we are rebuilding around several top-class players. We have got Reina, Carragher, Gerrard, Torres, Kuyt - it's not as if we are rebuilding from nothing." (You really don't have a clue, do you?)
Hodgson also aimed a swipe at the recruitments made by predecessor Benitez after Glen Johnson and Alberto Aquilani failed to make an impact.
He said: "I think you can pay an awful lot of money for poor players and you can pay not very much money for very good ones - it is all to do with how good your scouting and your eye is. (Get to the eye doctor you ****)
"There are a lot of things here that the club has got to get right. We have got a lot more expensive failures on our list than good players that we have brought in for next to nothing - not to mention what a disaster I am
"Free transfers don't necessarily mean that you have got a bargain. My 35 years of experience of them has been very mixed. Also, you need to be sure that the manager you get can do the job you want from him."

Firstly, I doubt they read EST, but more importantly, I don't think the constant picking and escalating name calling has any influence, it's pretty classless, and it's got repetitive and tiresome. Just my opinion mind you.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI disagree, the owners need to realise how we feel about him. They may be under the misapprehension that they would be criticised by the fans for sacking him, whereas the reality is that they would be applauded.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I'm confident that they will be very interested in reading the opinions posted on various sites, for this reason we should ensure that our disgruntlement is regularly expressed. I normally wouldn't advocate abuse, but in Hodgson's case it is entirely justified. I always thought he was a nice man in spite of his failings, but he is a cunt and I hate him.Originally posted by Operation View PostFirstly, I doubt they read EST, but more importantly, I don't think the constant picking and escalating name calling has any influence, it's pretty classless, and it's got repetitive and tiresome. Bolton (A)
Chelsea (H)
Wigan (A)
Stoke (A)
West Ham (H)
Tottenham (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (A)
Fulham (H)
That's not a difficult run of games previously I'd expect us to get close to 7 wins from those games, suddenly that's unrealistic
Roy has to go now!!The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He's absolutely nowhere near good enough to manage us. **** it, he's nowhere near good enough to visit us as an opposing manager even, unless he's managing the formidable Farnborough Town.
Get him out. Get him out now.

They are the stats of an average manager, someone who will finish 11th or 12th in the table, there are plenty of those managers and none of them are good enough for us. The more I see of his record the more I can't believe we appointed him!!The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He's been poor, like pretty much everyone else barring Kyrgiakos and Reina - largely because Hodgson is an utterly woefully inept and clueless manager.Originally posted by Operation View PostMaybe if Rafa was in charge, Cole would actually manage to direct a cross in to the box more than one time in ten? He's been poor, and it's mostly not down to the way Roy is using him imo.

I'm so pleased you added on that bit in red, just for clarification like - we wouldnt want any haziness or doubt to creep in

Has he ever done much better under proper managers though? Bit part under Mourinho. Ancelotti didn't need him. Even Sven didn't trust him that much.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostMaybe if Joe Cole had a manager who wasnt utterly inept and clueless as to how best to use him, he'd perform better.

Not needing him when you have a £300m squad at your disposal is one thing, but unfortunately we dont have that luxury. Ancelotti did.Originally posted by Daniel Torres View PostHas he ever done much better under proper managers though? Bit part under Mourinho. Ancelotti didn't need him. He's hugely talented and were it not for injuries, he'd be appreciated and rated far more than he is.
Not really fussed about what Sven thought, in all honesty, i dont rate his judgement.
As for Mourinho, Cole had one superb season under him before he was bombed out. If Mourinho didnt rate him enough, that's his perogative but again, he had the luxury of a super expensive squad, so perhaps he was in a position where he could afford to make Cole dispensable.
As i said though, sadly, we're not in that kind of position.
If he's used properly, in a confident attacking team that seeks to win games, and is given proper backing and the belief that his manager has faith in him, he'll deliver.
Class player.

So it's ok that the manager tell the media that we fans are worthless idiotic ****s that should shut up? That is more or less what Roy done a few times. It's his fault 100% that a lot of fans hate him.Originally posted by Operation View PostI think it's all getting a bit OTT, to be honest.
He did the same at Blackburn and now here.
Someone should tell Roy that he should be priviligied to be our manager. Someone should tell Roy to respect the fans.
Roy can get the hell out of here as soon as possible. He is a lunatic **** that don't give a **** about us fans.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a
