I disagree, mainly because, although it's certainly arguable he was equally bad, I think Insua will improve (at least a bit).

But by your own admission, that's £5m for no improvement.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

You are the only one. And last season in both attack and defensive stats, Insua was much better. Even if he wasn't better defensive, he is a million miles better on the ball than Konchesky ever has been or ever will be. Konchesky is terrible on the ball.
Konchesky is so bad that he is English, left footed and can't get in the England team, that is as damning as it gets.

I don't think Insua was terrible but he did struggle at times. The same is clearly true of Konchesky. The differences are that Insua is young, showing signs of improving and was the most creative fullback in the division last year (judged by assist I believe), none of these positive points have any counterpart in a description of Bombscare.

He isn't as deserving as Hicks and Gillett were, but he is still harming our club. Is he a Liverpool supporter? Does he really give a **** what happens to our club? I accept that managers are simply professionals who are doing a job, but a Liverpool manager should have guts. He should believe in the team. Our manager should demand the best from his players and should not kowtow to rival managers. Roy is an embarrassment to our club, he is damaging us. Rather than reiterate every negative point made in this 55 page mega thread it seems perfectly acceptable to use the word cunt, it's succinct and emphasises the ill-feeling towards this man. I was one of the ones willing to give Hodgson a chance and wanted him to succeed, everyone has a cut-off point - I now firmly believe that the man is an absolute cunt and we desperately need to sack him in order to stop the rot.

Well that certainly can be suggested, yes. I think Insua lacked the fundamental pace to ever be top class. Konchesky, to my mind only has the edge because of his experience. Neither player ws/is the future of that position.

I am sure the person most under pressure as a result of the takeover is Roy Hodgson. What he says does not bother me (seems to be continuously taken out of context in any case but anyway..), it's what happens on the pitch. He's overseen a lot of poor results and performances. But NESV aren't idiots. They know he's the new kid on the block and can only judge him on his performance. If we continue to play poorly then I have no doubt that NESV will sack him at Xmas. Until and (you never know) if he is sacked, I will be supporting him and the team.

I certainly don't like him as a manager or a person and I think he should have been dismissed for gross incompetence straight after the derby. While he is both damaging and embarrassing to the club, I don't think he is doing it on purpose, I just think he is a poor manager.

Ashley Cole would be left back for ANY country in the world. Ridiculous comparison

I never said as a started did I? The fact that he can't even get in the squad at all is pretty bad.

                        Baines is quality though

Christ, this site has often been a knicker-wetting, pissy-fitting, mood-swinging playground after a particularly bad run of results (as at times last year under Rafa), but it's getting close to unreadable these days. Every single thread is overtaken by hysterical insults against Roy. To the extent that, for example, if Roy was to harmlessly comment on the launch of a new white away kit you'd get a succession of posts saying "yes, of course you'd like that you f***ing **** of a c*** of a f***er cause then you'll make us look like Fulham the way you and your **** c***sucking mates want us to. Why don't you resign now you f***ing c***stain of a man"

It's just getting tiresome. Can we just take it as read that the majority of people on here don't like the guy, and not turn every thread into a competition for who can think up the best new sweary insult to call a man who, regardless of the fact he looks out of his depth and is almost certainly not the man who will improve us, is trying his best and who is still our manager?

Criticise his woeful small-club mentality by all means, and his tactics, signings, and strange decisions and comments. I just don't think the personal **** is big, clever, or befitting of "the best fans in the world (TM)".

agree with all of this, it crossed the border of ridiculous long ago...

But, as I have explained to the owners, January is often a market for clubs trying to move on players they don’t want. I don’t want to be taking peoples’ leftovers.

way to go Roy. IS there anybody player you dont to alienate at our club?
Thats one big hole he's digging. I remember when my grandad started to say outrageously offensive things as he got older, and we all kind of went "Oh, its just his way, he doesn't mean anything by it!"

                            Yeah...

Kind of reminds me of Roy a bit!

Sounded like you were implying England were lacking at left back when in reality they have a player who's nailed on there. What about the right back position? GJ gets ripped apart on here yet there's no one else out there who can displace him in the England set up. It's irrelevent, but I concur that Koncheski's not England quality
