Surely, he didn't say that? I suppose if you haven't won away in a million years any away victory is a famous

Interview on LFC.TV might be BBC:

...today was a famous victory cos we havent won more that once away from home in the last year and its good to get that monkey of our back
        Ironically he also said:

...our fans are very quick to seize on every word you say...

I just saw the interview in its entirety and I must say, that was one of his better ones. Says some bit about his media handling skills.

OK, so I haven't been able to follow things for the last few days, after Blackburn I was having second thoughts about sacking Roy, thinking he could after all change his ways but now I realise that no matter what he has to go, he could get us fourth but still he'd have to go. He is utterly classless and hopeless and I'm back to firmly loating him.

He really is trying to lower our expectations.

A 1-0 at Bolton would be a famous victory if it won us the title, but in these circumstances
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If he gets us to 4th place then he would have done a great job. And if we keep getting 3 points i dont care how we play. I wouldnt care if every goal we score from now till the end of the season comes from an OG or a deflection of someones balls but we keep getting 3 points then i would mind

If he gets us into the top 4 he'll have done a good job, but I'm far from convinced that he will, especially given what we've seen (and heard from him) so far

He wont get us 4th place and imo we'll be lucky to finish as high as we did last season

His tactics are ****ing ****e and not up to Liverpool standard

They remind me of Wimbledon in the 80's (without the fight & passion)
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

It's not just tactics and results though is it, this man is just a very poor representative of our club IMO.

                          He's not a "Liverpool manager"

Unfortunately there are different accounts available for what actually happened, who made those decisions and when.

                              Kenny Dalglish July 2009

"I spoke to manager Rafael Benitez a few months ago and things have progressed from there," Dalglish told the Liverpool website.

"Now that it has come to fruition I am very excited, but also a bit nervous."

Dalglish's arrival back at Anfield has been mooted for some time and comes during a summer in which manager Rafael Benitez has conducted sweeping changes behind the scenes.
"Rafa has made a very brave decision to revamp the academy," added Dalglish.

                              Rafa Benitez July 2009

"I am really pleased to have Kenny as a part of the staff," said Benitez.

"We were looking for someone who has a knowledge and a passion for the club and Kenny is the perfect choice.

"If you're looking for somebody to go around the world on behalf of the club then I don't know anybody better than Kenny.

"When you talk to him about players and football systems it's clear he has a lot of experience. That's good for the club and also for the young players coming through. "We are changing things at the academy, we are bringing in new ideas and new people but we're keeping the spirit and the heart of the club.

"Kenny has played for the club, he's managed the club, he's done everything. He's a fantastic signing."

                              Excerpt from Dalglish Autobiography

In mid-June, I had to let them know my real views. I wanted the job. I couldn't miss the opportunity.

One day I was in a meeting with Christian and the chairman, Martin Broughton, and formally put my name forward. "We don't want you, Kenny," came the reply from Christian and the chairman. Fine. That's their prerogative. They explained they had different plans for me, a position with greater longevity.

"We want you for a role at the club that would be for longer than the tenure of the manager," the board told me. The job focused on player development.

                              It wasn't management, though.

Martin Broughton made that abundantly clear. People have asked me whether I was disappointed and, of course, I was.
I think the point about the last comment from Dalglish was that the board did not want to lose Dalglish quickly if there was a takeover which menat the new team brought in ther own manager., and that it would be better to keep Dalglish at the club as more like an ambassodorial role.

Dalglish is immensely important to Liverpool with his current legacy. I think the club were scared of scarring that legacy if they gave him the managers job now.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

So you're looking for someone with the same level of quality as Torres, who will be willing to wait in the wings, until Nando isnt playing...good luck with that one.

That scouting mission will take you to the end of your days, and you still wont find anyone.
