    Wasn't Aquilani replaced by Meireles?

The one area where Hodgson should keep very quiet about so far is transfers as his have been absymal so far.

But still hope Merieles and Cole will do the business

Good additions to our squad/first team, I have been impressed by Raul, he looks like he can run all day and is all over the pitch, and is also good with the ball at his feet. One of our best and most consistent players this year IMO.

We paid £3 million for him

He only had 2 years left on his contract so cant see us breaking even on him

Daily Mirror says £1 million http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news...cle558125.html

But i'm sure I read on Cesena official site that it was a free transfer

Well IMO this is the most reliable site out there and it says we got £3m for him. If it's down to who I trust most out of LFC History or The Mirror, then I know who I'd go with.

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Why on earth were you looking at Cesena's site?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Oh Roy....You'll be telling us King Kenny was treated to dinner by Rafa at Melwood every day at this rate....

I think both will be good additions but if i'm honest i haven't really been impressed by either. Meireles needs to do more and make more of an impact on the game, drifts him by sometimes, Cole is just hopelessly out of form and might actually find it tough to get back in the side.

In saying that i think Cole is far too predictable on the left and would be better served centrally or at worst out right, how to accommodate him i dunno? And Meireles has been moved around alot, i wasn't a big fan of him initially but am still really hoping he proves me wrong, where to play him is also a problem if Roy likes Gerrard in the CM, as seems to be the case. Makes sense to play Meireles behind Torres or Gerrard behind Torres with Meireles back with Lucas?

Maybe Roy doesn't trust Meireles and Lucas in there, to be fair Stevie has been excellent beside Lucas so its a hard one to call. I reckon either Cole or Meireles will struggle to get into the starting 11 during the season with the way we line up and with incomings in January.

There was a similar argument to this about his valuation and someone had linked in the Cesena website

OK, that's slightly less obsessive than I feared.

Jones qualifies as home grown, I think that's the only reason this deal was made.

And he's an Aussie, so he's probably a top bloke and good in the sack.

The same reason to why Rafa wanted to sign Barry for example. We needed English players and our Academy didn't deliver yet. Then the only option is to sign English players for the first team.

I see Jones as a good signing just because of the home grown rule. The manager can't just sign whatever player he want because of that rule.

Man C have acted very clever in the transfer market and signed players that will qualify as home grown after a couple of years, like Balotelli. They can use him outside of the rules until then without any problem.
