Did you admit you just nicked them off Lecter and dww?

Absolutely not. And besides I used the work of Paul Tomkins, of course. And his CV which I have now memorised, including all those **** clubs and all those sackings.

Though when I asked them if they'd swap Hodgson for Ancelloti then suddenly Hodgson wasn't so quite great.
    It's unreal.

Suspect there won't be a lot of agreement but an interesting perspective.
Roy is a damned man, whatever he does. If he makes the right decision, the case will be "why did he set the team up all wrong in the first place?"

GOD FORBID we climb up the table, there will be a mass suicide rally led by Shaggy on this forum followed by 90% of e-voters.

              BigChief talk heap rubbish. How.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I've never felt he was good enough for LFC but I would love him to turn it around and prove me and everyone else wrong. I'd happily sign his name if he won the league next year - I assume winning this year is a bit too optimistic.

                  Or even sing his name

Just returning to football violence in Australia. The A league was formed after the existing national comp was disbanded and new clubs formed to rid the game of off field violence. The original clubs were established by ethnic groups, South Melbourne were Greek in origin and their local rivals were Melbourne Croatia. Each group brought their own historic hatred to the games. I cant remember if any of the of the existing clubs were awarded any of the new franchises.

On another point, Gerard's performance yesterday can only strengthen the case for spending that extra cash for world class players. It must have been obvious even to somebody who doesn't understand the game the difference he made when he came on.

If Roy somehow does manage to climb up the table which will be highly interesting, there will literally be a mass suicide

Between Greece and Croatia? Since when? If you said between Serbia and Croatia I would believe that as they are deeply rooted reasons behind ethnically based hatred ..

Yes that did always confuse me but I never bothered to look up the history. Being an old season ticket holder of South Melbourne, I can tell you the violence was real.

Hey mate, nice to see another Melbournian on here. To be fair, the football violence in Oz was never that bad, although it did get bad press bacuase it was something different. The disbanding of the old NSL set-up was to get rid of those old ethnic allegiances altogether, for marketing reasons more than to avoid violence. Sth Melbourne only really appealed to Greek Melbournians, Knights/Croatia to Croats etc.

You still based in Melbourne? Red's games still get a big turn out at the Celtic Club?

Sth Melbourne Hellas and Melbourne Croatia were the two big teams in Melbourne, the only two in the National League and as their names suggest, they were very much ethnic clubs. Obviously the club rivalry was also an ethnic rivalry.

The association of football with ethnic minorities in Australia has, up until the last 5 years or so, really held back the game. If you were of 'White Australia' stock, you played Aussie Rules or Rubgy. I used to get in fights all the time at highschool because I was a 'skip' playing 'wogball'.
