I thought we had that in Skrtel and Agger. Well amybe we did for a short while.
Lump passed to classy, not 2 ponce's playing it out of defence although I would prefer it to our current set up of 2 neanderthals hoofing it 40 ywards up front_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

So you couldnt think of any examples then.Originally posted by Imustbreakyou View PostBeing a poor defender isn't the same as making individual cock ups. He's not that good in the air, slowish and struggles with stronger attackers.
Surely, if someone is a poor defender, he makes mistakes...no?
Put it this way, if Agger doesnt make enough mistakes for you to remember, how bad can he really be?
But even by your logic that suggests someone can be poor, but not make many mistakes - well, i'll happily take a so-called '**** defender' who doesnt make mistakes any day of the week*.
* - yes, the two are mutually exclusive - a defender who doesnt make many mistakes, is a good defender.
Furthermore, as a Europa League club (for now) with a **** manager and no real chance of CL football next season, which CB do you suggest we buy, who is quick, good in the air, can deal with stronger attackers, doesnt make mistakes and has the right positional sense, 'body on the line' defensive mentality and all-round solidity of a top CB?
I'm all ears.Last edited by Craig_H; 10-12-10, 12:23 AM.

But is he a ball playong defender or defender first? Think it should be the other way round (as with Gwendolyn "must protect the hair at any cost" Johnson).Originally posted by Craig_H View PostSpot on.
Having CBs who can play means you keep the ball far more, which helps you control the game - you build attacks, you reduce the level of pressure the team is under significantly and you're less likely to see mistakes at the back, due to mis-control or random panic-led hoofing.Substance > Style

Well, if we're talking at this moment, maybe. But ordinarily, they ain't up to much. Watch the Goons and Spurs lose this weekend.Originally posted by Mostar View PostYou wish.
Other 4 are all playing CL football and definitely doing better in Serie A and PL respectively.Substance > Style

Barca our peers. That's wishful thinking. At the moment they're miles ahead of us on and off the field, with the exception of the number of European Cups in their cabinet. A case could be made that most of the other teams on that list are ahead of us at present too.

Peers i.e. something we should aspire too - not someone who's at the same level than us.Originally posted by banditos View Post
