The problem is that it is very difficult to find a player like Agger that can defend as good as him. He is great because he is a very complete defender, no real weakness.

You will be able to find central defenders that is as good with the ball as him but they almost always isn't that great defending.

Another possibility, which doesn't happen often, would be buying already established pair playing together such as Hummels and Subotic.

One of them imo we'll be sold in summer and who knows maybe we can get a packaged deal.

That said, I think we can get by with 1 CB, which would be great as we'll need money to improve other areas.

how much money do you think we'll have to spend in the summer and how much do you think we'll get for Agger?

IF he was replaced it would need to be for the same level of quality, agreed? The problem we have is that we need to bring in several players of decent quality and this will cost quite a large amount of money - I don't think we'll be able to afford to bring in 2 top centre backs plus the other positions we are desperately in need of improving this summer all at once.

I could be wrong and if so great but the potential outlay this summer could be huge and I think we'll fall short of doing everything we'd ideally like to do with the squad.

the real problem is Agger cant play lots of games.

I agree he is THAT good its just no use on the physio table for half a season.

he does have a weakness and thats he cant play every game or anything near.

i dont enjoy saying agger should go. He is one of my fav players. I am just being a realist

the other thing about changing both CH at the same time. there is uncertanty when you have to change the partnership as we do.

what i would say is get aggers replacement and we can see if he is good enough by rotation or just playing because agger is injured.

this may however have an impact on Aggers resale value.
