Although, and I am going to be utterly ripped for saying this, I was impressed with Carragher during pre-season and with Coates coming up, Kelly available at the position and of course Skrtel, we could buy a decent CB (which I assume we have lined up) and survive this while funding a revision of this squad with young, international talent.

While I detest the selling of Agger, I'm resigning myself to the inevitable. I don't think it's us who is forcing the sale though. City will offer better wages and UCL.

Remember AGger saying he's happy here and wants a new contract. That could well be to just force us to give him an improved contract as he has only 2 yrs left. We delayed a bit and then suddenly, Barca and City are in for him and the ball is in his court.

I have a question for all you Est'ers. What id City offer us 20m and are offering him ~6m a year and he wants us to offer the same wages? What would your position be?

Personally I think his fair wage is about 4mill a year to 4.5 mill if he can stay fit

The Suarez and Hendo deals were both nailed on for weeks before they signed they were just agreeing the money... the Borini deal i saw a few weeks before.. my thoughts are its crappy people making up stories for followers.

OR saying it now and then if it does go through they can say "H'OMG I TOLD YOU'S ALL LIKE 3 YEARS AGO, BEST ITK IN THE WORLD WOOO!"

I don't think they'll sell Agger, morale is at an all time low and I think FSG won't want to push things over the edge. However, I don't think their longterm plan is to have us competing for top honours either, and the likes of Agger and Suarez will be leaving over the next 2 seasons anyway.

If he's off, sell him to the side who offers you the most. I couldn't give a ****e really, we can't compete with Citeh, its not like they're our competition for 4th place is it, so sell to them if they offer more money.

If we expected to be battling them for 4th, different story, but we're miles below them.
