What other possible reason would Joe Cole get ahead of him in the team? It probably isn't the reason I know, but just makes me wonder sometimes.

Only reasonable explanation behind Cole starting is to try to showcase his "skills" and hopefully find a club willing to take him either on a loan or to sign him permanently in January.

He was also featured vs Stoke and WBA.

It is possible that he would have had more playing time if it wasn't his injury that kept him out for a while.

Because he's a good player. Enough signs in Russia the other week to suggest he's regaining some match fitness. Will be like having a brand new signing have Joe Cole back. Can't wait for tonight.
