No he's demeaning one the greatest sporting moments ever. He should be talking about Istanbul as the greatest night in football history instead of saying the treble was a greater achievement.

As a poster said earlier, most footballers should just stfu.

yes that is true i agree with you on that , but saying he puts himself before the club and he got Rafa out is uncalled for. Every statement has to be backed by hard facts and evidence right. some people are just talking bull****.

Some people say Megan Fox is the hottest person alive. however my opinion is that Angelina Jolie and Penelope Cruz come before Megan Fox for me. I might be wrong but it shouldnt result in me being called a cunt and a ****ing idiot.

There is however a time and a place for giving an opinion

Frankly I dont think Carragher should be giving it now

Things are too raw regarding Benitez, the current manager is a ****ing laughing stock and Carraghers own performances have come under the microscope and we've had his outburst to supporters at the match

Carragher should just shut the **** up, just like Hodgson should

Unfortunately both of them are too ****ing thick to see that they are stood on a railway line and the train is coming

Carragher has been asked an opinion from the liverpool offical website about his views on Houiller, in view of the upcoming liverpool v villa game.

Obviously he has waffled on but he had to give his opinion on that and obviosuly things have progressed.

Although i hate all this dumbingg down of Rafa's acheivements. but then if you dont like your old boss your hadly going to speak about him glowingly are yoU?

I think it can be argued that winning a treble is harder than winning the Champions League. So in that sense he could argue it was a greater achievement. Plus they came 4th that year, whilst when we won in Istanbul we came 5th.

Of course, that is one way of looking at it.

Another is that the team we won the treble with was far better than the one Rafa inherited from Ged. And there is no question which prize most people would take if offered, and I include players, managers and fans in that.

I've said this before Gary Neville might be a rat faced ugly ****er but he is Man Utd through and through, he is a couple of years older than Carra but he accepts not playing every week and was even laughing with Ferguson when he got brought off at the start of the 2nd half against Stoke a month or so ago (when he should have been sent off 1st half)
Can you imagine Carragher's reaction if he was substituted like that???

Neville, Giggs, Scholes don't say anything when they don't play every single week whereas Carra appears to still think he has a divine right to play 90 minutes every single week regardless of form.

Personally I lost all respect for him when he happily played RB this season for Hodgson yet 2 years ago when we were chasing the title away to Middlesborough he flatly refused meaning Skrtel played there and we ended up losing 2-0 to a side that got relegated.

Liverpool through and through hey Jamie, so much so that you wouldn't play right back in 1 game to help us win the title for the 1st time in 19 years

                  Agree entirely with this.

That's a great point which I failed to acknowledge. Hmmm - my opinion of Carra has changed - suddenly it's not so good

It was though - Rafa came out and said 'Carra said he was feeling tired' and therefore couldn't play there

It was in his autobiography, hardly speculation eh?

I have always believed that in a proper Liverpool team playing pass and move fluid football as we used to, Carra would be way out of his depth.

He is a backs to the wall defender at best, technically appalling, shocking even and probably the worst distributor of a ball I have seen (playing for us at CB). My Liverpool team would be on the front foot and would need CBs more in the mould of Agger.

That's a world away from point blank refusing to play RB. He most likely was tired and felt that Downing would have skinned him stupid. Rafa then choose to play Skrtel there.

I'd say that knowing how Rafa worked if Carra had of point blank refused, he would have been dropped completely. Regardless of who he was. Rafa was too ruthless to accept that.
