We have lost something like five out of the last 25 games he hasn't played. We play better as a team without him.

To say that without Gerrard we are nothing is laughable.

The 08-09 season stats....

With Gerrard.....21 7 2
Without him......4 4 0

09-10 season stats....

With Gerrard......16 7 9
Without him........2 2 2

The last game we lost before this season when Gerrard didn't play was the 31st October 2009 and we didn't lose a single game without him the 08-09 season.

Is it just me that doesn't understand those stats?

He is rotated out of the side against teams that the manager feels we can beat even without him. Poo teams in other words. The stats are meaningless Arn as most of the games without him are going to be poor sides, and the games with him are going to include the top sides.

Err... Stats aside - Based on what I have seen with my own eyes over the last, what 9 or 10 years of Steven Gerrards career - I'd say we are a far better team when he plays in it.

Is this 'debate' for real?

It is one thing to say his ideas and opinions, and power at the club have gotten a bit out of control, but to say we are a good/better team without him in it is plainly nonsense.

I don't understand why we have a **** manager still, and when I read forums I so apathetic towards what I read or hear. I can only rarely be bothered to pass my own judgement, and that is when I read something I strongly disagree with. My views and passion for football seem to be on the wane and I find my views out of synch with the majority of posters on here.

I agree. Other than a bit about the cricket I haven't posted much on here at all recently, and I didn't bother watching the last 3 games.
What is happening I don't know, but it doesn't even bother me that I didn't watch the games...

I see football as mainly being a bunch of spoilt, overpaid, talentless ******s, moaning about ****ing anything and everything.
And I am quite frankly sick off it. These guys wouldn't last 5 minutes in the real world and it sickens me that they are paid so much they will never have to.

why not take in a non league game and see if you enjoy your footy any better watching the real thing?

afc liverpool was built for liverpool fans so maybe go along and see them play? or if you're not local, your local non league side?
