At the moment I'd still have him first Choice but with Agger beside when fit.Don't trust skrtel,he's an accident waiting to happen.
Don't like him for the alleged involvement in Rafa's demise and Roy's subsequent arrival but since I've no proof any of that happened I can't slate him for it.
He's an LFC Legend and deserves respect for his on the pitch achievements but he is also clearly past his best though and needs phasing out once we get a top drawer replacement which I hope will be this summer of Jan if possible

The term 'legend' get banded about too easily. Shankly, Dalglish, Gerrard are 'legends', Carra isn't.Originally posted by PoolG View PostAt the moment I'd still have him first Choice but with Agger beside when fit.Don't trust skrtel,he's an accident waiting to happen.

Only 4 players have played more games for this club EVER and by the time he retires there will probably only be one. I'd say it's pretty fair to regard him as an LFC legend despite how recent alleged actions may have soured peoples (including mine) views.Originally posted by cream View PostThe term 'legend' get banded about too easily. The contract thing absolutely stank and it was no coincidence that Purslow was ****ed off almost straight away.
He's past his best - that's clear - and we need a long term replacement. Too much influence/power, I suspect, and I don't trust or rate his opinions.
His best is behind him but he can serve very much similar role as Sami at the end of his career with us. Still decent squad player but definitely not worth 2 year contract at 90k/week..Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Centre backs don't normally make it into top teams at the age of 18, so my point was about untested kids being declared first choice over someone with the experience and know how and ability of Carragher.Originally posted by vlahka View PostAgger is definitely our best defender. But the whole untested kids thing really irks me. The only way to know if they're good is to test them. Kelly got tested and I think he's quality. Wilson is looking good but maybe a little too early for him. He'd still do 100 times better then bloody skrtel or konchesky. We shouldnt be scared to use kids who supposedly have potential. UTD did it once and still do, should be something we would of learned by now.

Entitled to your opinion even if its ****e.Originally posted by cream View PostThe term 'legend' get banded about too easily. Shankly, Dalglish, Gerrard are 'legends', Carra isn't.
What has Stevie achieved in the game that Carra hasn't? They both have the same medal haul and both have played their part in LFC's recent successes so how can one be a legend and the other isn't
He has legendary status for his heroics in Istanbul alone IMO,nevermind the countless other games he's played and trophies he's won.
How you can call him a gob****e without even knowing the man is beyond me.

He’s a bluenose gob****e that only has his own interests at heart. The “He still hasn’t beaten you, Boss” text sent to Houllier was revelling in the fact that LFC were less successful in terms of trophy numbers under Rafa than Houllier – how can a current Liverpool player revel in that?
He’s not even a legend; plodded around as an average utility man then played centre back along side a true legend (Hypia) with excellent cover in front (Hamman) in a defensive system that made him look a lot better than he really was. No pace, no aerial ability, weak, no footballing ability; he’d stick out like a gigantic sore thumb in any of our great sides.

What heroics are they then? We were 3 down at half time - why didn't his heroics extend to stop us going three down? It was Gerrard that led the fight back with his goal, and general drive, and got us the pen.Originally posted by PoolG View PostEntitled to your opinion even if its ****e.

Same the following year in the Cup Final - why didn't superman Carragher stop us conceding 3 goals against the mighty West Ham - the tit scored one for the Hammers for good meaasure - and Gerrard had to rescue the situation again.
To say that if two players have the same medal haul it automatically means they made the same contribution and thus should be regarded as equally important is simple-minded nonsense of the hughest order.
