the personal abuse he took in the match tread was out of order, but he's well short of the level required, even for a squad player.

Guilty of both Chelsea goals but I don't really blame him as he did his best.

We should have never left the 2nd part of the season on Jay to salvage it for us and made DM position his own.

We had to bring someone in January to relieve the workload and step in where Lucas left off and instead we in our wisdom made the decision that Jay can carry the role and as result we paid a hefty price.

I wish him the best in his future endevours but personally I'd look to sell him in the summer.

Our backup option for Lucas needs to be much, much better than Spearing.

He's not good enough to be a DM. But no one in the current group of fit players is. But I don't know why Jay should get the dogs abuse for it.

He's decent on the ball and not bad at the terrier like role, but his positional sense means he'll never be a top DM, though he'd likely improve with age & experience.

Jays problem is that he is average or poor at everything, he has nothing that makes him a standout player or worthwhile.

Charlie Adam has been poor, but as Lec said, at least he has a high number of assists.

All our CM's look good next to Lucas, all look poor with others. It's a bad situation as it basically means Lucas was carrying our midfield.

Henderson I think could develop into a decent player next to Lucas for instance but Spearing is just not up to it, shame as he's tried his hardest to fill in where we are woefully short of quality at the moment but just isn't good enough.
