Kelly out for the season ?

    Kelly injury set back

Liverpool have suffered a setback on the injury front with the news that Martin Kelly may be out for the rest of the campaign.

The 20-year-old has not played since the defeat at West Ham in February, but there had been a hope he would return against West Brom this weekend.

That is not going to be the case, though, after he suffered a setback in training and there is a real fear that his season could well be more or less over.

The right-back will undergo a scan on his hamstring on Monday and he should know over the next few days how long he will be sidelined for.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

that's a real shame - lad has done well for us this season and I'm happy to see a player coming through the ranks for once

The thought of finishing the season with Carra at RB and Skrtel at CB fills me with dread.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Was fine against Man Utd, and we limited Sunderland away to zero chances at all. The way some go on you'd think we concede 10 a game when those two play, they're both fine.

Though this is a blow as he adds a lot to the team. Sport.co.uk often make things up so hopefully thats the case here too.

Yes, they're aren't too many exclusive scoops in the age of the internet (at least not for long) so hopefully it is.

Yes, it's fine for the odd game, but I can't see us going on a long winning streak with that set-up and that's what is required if we are to make Europe. Add in the fact that Agger is also likely to get injured again and things don't look too good.

that's to bad, as mentioned it will hamper us a bit with carra at rb for the remainder of the season if Aurelio is not back for a few games?

other alternatives is placing agger at lb, but he is to good central, so would not be to happy with that, or to give wilson a few more games and time on the lb although it's clearly not his favorite position.

I think the options are either:
                          • Aurelio LB & Johnson RB
                          • Wilson LB & Johnson RB
                          • Johnson LB & Carragher RB

I expect to see all 3 before the end of the season, I would prefer the first one but Aurelio is unlikely to be fit that often. I'd expect the 3rd option for the bigger games and perhaps the second option for some of the others.

Agger at LB shouldn't be considered IMO unless we are desperate.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Once Europe is no longer an option (if indeed that does happen), I'd hope to see a couple of the kids given a chance to see what they're made of.

I don't hope to see Agger at LB, but he probably has to most to offer going forward expect Aurelio if ever fit.

but it's the later combination of Johnson and Carra I expect to see for most games.
