There is a massive disadvantage to playing Wilson, in that his defensive ability is of serious concern. He simply isn't good enough to play for us at present.
He was ****e against Braga but was being played out of position, I guess the only way he's going to improve is through game time which he still needs more of.

He is comfortable on the ball and is good at carrying the ball not too dissimilar to Agger in that sense but yes his positional play and tackling isn't the best.

He's still only young to be fair, he will improve I'm sure over time. Him together with Ayala and Kelly are the future of our defence, we're going to rely heavily on these lads in the future.

Robinson on the other hand, i'm not so sure about. Doesn't convince me tbh but i'm not writing him off or anything.
      You don't rate Robinson?

He's only 17 iirc, he has bags of potential and doesn't mind getting stuck in - very promising imo.

That's all very well, but he doesn't have an Irish name.

No offical news on Kelly yet? He's holding up my FF changes.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

No official confirmation yet which is good news at least for now.

              I said i'm not convinced, not that i didn't rate him - there's a difference.

              He does have potential, yes.

Liverpool's 20-year-old right-back Martin Kelly is unlikely to play again this season after suffering a recurrence of the hamstring injury that has kept him out of action for a month.

Shame if he is out for the rest of the campaign.

He's been one of the few positives to come out of this season.

There's been a few more since Kenny came in but yeah I know what you mean.

I posted the 2nd link cause it hadn't been reported anywhere else in days.

Hopefully he can make another couple of appearances before the season ends.

Disappointing but Kelly's more than stamped his mark on this season.

No point risking him, makes sense to get him fully fit and ready to go for the start of next season.

Btw, does anyone think if Kelly is a regular for us next season and continues performing, that he could sneak into England's Euro 2012 squad?

Absolutely. There just isn't another decent English right-back apart from Johnson.

If he adapts as well to CB next season as he did to RB then he'd be a must as England are relatively light in that position too.

Be interesting to see where he fits in next year if we buy a new first choice LB and everyone else is fit.

There is now. Kenny mentioned it in his statement about Gerrard
