there has just been a 40M bid for Suarez

however, it seems unlikely he will want to leave LFC to move to Knowsley Safari Park

I think Rodgers and Ayre are gambling here - they're basically seeing what the FA is going to do.

Personally, I'd have announced the 4 game ban and hope that the FA sees that as fitting punishment.

Then again, now I think about it, we're not the only ones. Not by a long way.

I never said Rodgers can't control players...

Suarez let us down. He let himself down, his team mates down, the club who have stood by him through racism and diving controversies where he was at least partially responsible, and all the fans who have supported him... and now he goes and does something like this? Seriously though, I know he's our best player but he's also a ****ing idiot. Lets not beat about the bush here, asking if he bit someone's mother is utterly utterly irrelevant. Sure everyone has done things they're not proud of, but how many of us have bitten someone at work? Yeah, if he had a spotless record up to now we could wipe it off as an aberration, but he most definitely hasn't. I know its hardly murder but biting people? Really?

I love the guy for how he plays, but this incident is 100% unnecessary and 100% Suarez fault. I don't think we should sell him because that hurts the club, but I just wonder how some people would be reacting on here if this was RVP or John Terry we were talking about. Seriously. Suarez is a dickhead. Great player, but for ****s sake we can so do without this **** AGAIN.
                I disagree that he's a dickhead. He's a nutjob but not a dickhead.

I just don't see why everyone's got themselves in a pickle over this. Ivanovic seems to be over it, so why can't we?

You say he's let us down but he's been immense for us this season. I don't see that as letting us down. This is the 3rd best player in the world we have and if Ivanovic has a) accepted his apology b)didn't make a big deal out of it after the game c)was not hurt, then we should just try and nip it in the bud and move on.

I've previously had a proper go earlier in the thread for Suarez' diving but he seems to have cut that out of his game (for the most part) and he shold be given credit for that as I think it had become 'natural' for him to do it.

Yeah......that's the way I'm thinking as well.
If the FA are going to hand down a ban I suspect it'll be for the 4 games anyway. Nice round figure to end his season.

Remote chance of them having a brain relapse, and looking at our reaction to it, the fine and apology, Ivanonic not protesting, previous instances - could lead to less.
Of course, the fact he was warned as to his future behavior previously means they could throw the book at him........big time.

...most players would have clocked him one. Credit to Ivanovic for his restraint.

I remember being amazed at the restraint of Arjan de Zeeuw as Wigan capt when an opposition player stood up after a tackle and just spat in his face. Full on disgusting...

was thinking the same the club should have given him a 3/4 game ban therefore leaving the fa to do nothing

Suarez will get 9 or 10 games.
He got 7 in Holland, this is the 2nd time he has bit someone on a football field. He has previous with the FA, the FA will want to look strong and send out a 'message' as they usually do so that means more than the 7 he got the 1st time imo.

I stand by my earlier post and I know I'm in a minority of 1 but I would sell him. The most we are getting from Suarez is 1 more season, if we don't qualify for the CL next season he will be off, everyone in football seems to accept that which means it becomes a buyers market because they know we will be selling/he will push for a move.

We should sell him this summer while we are in control of the situation, say Suarez gets 9/10 games, thats 5/6 to serve at the start of next season and we have a dismal start to next season (like this one) and we find ourselves too far behind in the league to catch up.

Our squad doesn't need serious surgery but it needs strengthening in numerous areas, this summer with the increased tv money, sponsorship, player sales of £30m PLUS the Suarez money means we can realistically become a better, stronger, more flexible squad in a shorter period of time.

That then allows Shelvey, Suso, Wisdom, maybe even Sterling let alone the lads a level below (Robinson, Smith, Texirea, Ibe etc...) can go out on loan.

We would be a stronger football club for selling him.
If he stays next season we'll most likely have to replace him then Gerrard within 12-18months.

                            An impossible task.
