I get the feeling that Pablo1981 wants to move to Madrid, IF they come calling. He's given us a few good years as a Liverpool fan but in fairness, he's past his best.

I wish him well at Madrid and hope that he slots in to their fan base.

I know people are mentioning this release clause. But could someone show me where it comes from? I am having trouble discussing something that seems pretty spurious.

It's not true. Allen have a 15m release clause and we activated it when we bought him. We were making bids just below the amount which Swansea kept rejecting and when the amount reached 15m it was out of Swansea's hands.

Basically he just has to join a Madrid forum, Mr M has set the release clause at a packet of Bourbons and a Snickers.

          Resigned to losing him now

FWIW I hate Real Madrid (Although I would sign for them if they offered me £120,000 a week).

                Thought as much.

Does that not make it a bit pointless to argue about then? I mean, I heard he hates Steven Gerrard. Should we all talk about that and make a stand based on this assumption too.

                Not aimed at you BTW.

Nobody knows about a release clause. Club sources denied one existing yesterday and even the journos, although mentioning one, don't know what value it is set at. Like I said, I'd be astounded if it was set as low as £40m

Been a great player for us. But needs to learn to take responsibility for his actions. I don't buy this 'wants to play for a Champions League club'. How he has let us down over the last 2 seasons (22 odd game suspension with no actual red card) is disgraceful. For him to come out with this stuff when two managers, fellow players and fans have backed him despite his mistakes is a smack in the face really. He's been involved in 2 biting incidents now. He has some serious issues in his head and he'll never be a great until he sorts them out.

I actually hope we just sell him now. Move on and build a team/squad not reliant on one or two individuals

two reasons the clause amount 40m (if it exists) is so slow

                      1) When Suarez signed he was good but season just gone he took his game to another level.

                      2) Suarez may not have signed a new contract with a ridiculously high release clause at it would have scared off potential buyers.

                        Re: Real Madrid

I don't think they're the best club to join to unleash your full potential. They have so many players of the same ilk that they're just suffocating each other there. Add to that, Ronaldo is their main man, so you're always going to be playing second fiddle.
For example, Suarez likes a free kick but at Real he won't have much of a look in with the greasy one there.

Moths to a flame Maxiedge. Each moth thinking they're the 'chosen one' that can do what no other moth is able to. Mcmanaman, Owen, Benzema, list is endless. And will continue to grow.

Suarez is a genius and a liability. Teams seem to improve when their team carrying genius players leave as it removes pressure overall. It's different if you have a team full of world class players (Barca, Real etc) but we don't.

Look at how Arsenal responded when Henry or Fabregas left, Ronaldo for Man Utd etc.I think we need more team players and not a sole focus nutter, genius or not.

If selling means we can go after a world class (potentially) midfield player to replace Gerrard then surely that's a better deal?

Someone like Strootman or Grenier would improve us more than Suarez leaving would worsen us.
Arsenal haven't won a thing since Henry left and United had won back to back league titles and a European cup before Ronaldo left and not matched that since, despite winning a couple of titles.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

luis suarez has a contract with us and if we dont want to sell him then he has to accept it and get on with things.

If real or barca or whoever decide to make us an offer we cant refuse then thats a different matter altogether. Like with torres, if some club pays something astronomical then we take the money and the player moves on.

Do they care if it doesn't work out? A 4 year deal at £120,000 a week and the money rolls in regardless. We'd all like to think we found a man who wanted to make us great again but it was never going to happen when that man felt he was above the rest of the team, and IMO that is a criticism that can be levelled at Luis.
