Whatever the guy does he is always going to be criticised as some mastermind genius who deliberately engineered the scenario.

We've seen it in match reports where an innocuous bump is Suarez being a violent super villain assaulting opponents when it is plain to see to anyone with a brain is was a standard clash of players.

The same newspapers that twisted so much **** when he was a superhero are now being believed word for word.

How is saying you are flattered that a team is interested in signing you a declaration that you want to pay for them?

It isn't. Well it is.... but only if you are a lazy football journalist in the close season with nothing to write about but still with a need to sell papers.

    This whole thing is tedious.

Quite frankly I am starting to believe if he came out and said he would sacrifice his mother and daughter to the football gods and wanks over the club crest daily some would spin it as a a half-hearted defence of his claimed love of Liverpool.

Well, maybe if he keeps getting misinterpreted, it would be a good idea for him to shut the fcuk up. He's given about 4 interviews in Uruguay since he's been away this time (a few others before). Each and evey time he's allegedly been misinterpreted. Maybe he needs to, or his agent needs to tell him to stop talking. But nah, he takes time out of his holiday to go on Radio and give another one.

I've lost track of all the ones he's done this summer. Was one about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Was in that order. Talking about love for us, then a few mins later talking about giving his soul for Madrid

He's done a few only, they've just been repeated and re-arranged. And he never said he'd give his soul for RM. I don't think even a tabloid printed that, you made it up purely by yourself.

tbf, What Suarez actually said iirc was...
Asked what he would bring to Real Madrid, he told El Pais: “I will give my soul every game. I did every time on the pitch with Uruguay, Ajax and Liverpool.”
Now there is no doubt his words are being..not twisted, (edit: well tbh they are by some in the media) but certain quotes are making the headline, and that's all some people ever see or hear, but there is also no doubt imo, that he wants to join a club doing better than lfc, and better placed that lfc to progress in a shorter space of time.

TBF that is very different when put in that context. Sarb has really tabloided that quote up.

Blatantly touting himself for a move. He doesn't love the club or the fans. Not many players do like the article says. It's all pretty fake
All this faux sentimentality and affection does my head in. Does a player have to love fans? Does a player have to love a club to do well for it?

I can understand 10 year olds getting upset about their favourite player leaving, but grown men crying over a bloke and feeling all hurt because he doesn't love them back is a bit childish.

He's a man doing a job. He's a competitor. He makes the right noises when he joins a club because that what he has to do.

Posts like this, you sound like a prissy housewife whose husband has been knocking off the babysitter. Come on.

So, how many of our players love the club as much as they say they do and how many of them say it only because it is a part of the job to say it?

I think that Agger, Reina and Lucas is the only three that really love the club and don't just say it because it is a part of the job to say it.

Agger, Reina and Lucas probably didn't love the club to start with but they learned to love it after spending many years at the club.

I didn't mention the local players that support Liverpool.

As long as they give 100% on the pitch, that's all that matters. Not fussed anymore about their love for the club and I wish the LFC TV people would stop asking every player how much they love or feel about the club - getting more than cringeworthy now!!.
