Yip, I'm impartial to the idea of selling him now. Think the time is right. If we are offered 55m + Sanchez, snap their arm off.

What I want to know is how they can stop him from training? Or any football related activity? Do they own the entire concept of football, or excercise?
I can just about stomach the playing ban, but the rest confuses me from a legal standpoint . How much authority do fifa have over somone who works and lives in a different country? In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Top post from RAWK. I agree with every word and I'm a massive Suarez fan.We don't particularly need to replace Suarez's 30 goals, just a proportion of them. We scored an absolute ****ton last season, the most in the league, but we didn't win jot. You don't get extra points for scoring 5 goals a game, as much fun as it is to watch. We're never gonna be a team who wins with loads of 1-0s because we play attacking football, but you replace 31 goal Luis Suarez with 20 goal Alexis Sanchez (who, for argument's sake, may work better with Daniel Sturridge - I've never believed the SAS was a natural partnership so much as it was two very good players doing their thing) and bring in a couple more top class attackers and you've already offset those goals, even when you haven't necessarily needed to.
Look at the home Arsenal and Everton games from last season. Scintillating attacking football with an aggregate score of 9-1. Suarez scored one of those goals. Go back and watch them. Everything good we did was going through Coutinho, Sturridge and Sterling, especially in the Arsenal game. We hardly lack attacking talent. In fact, a lot of the goals Suarez scored were against weaker teams in routs - a third of his goals came in three games against Cardiff, Norwich and West Brom. Over half of his goals for the season came against the bottom four in some big wins. I'm not one who thinks Suarez only turns up against the weaker teams or anything, but lets get some perspective.
I'm not trying to downplay Suarez as a player. He was the best in the world last season, better than Ronaldo (IMO) and he can do things no other player in the world can do. He's a ****ing incredible footballer. But football isn't about individuals it's about teams, and at the end of the day, we can and will probably have to move on.
Ultimately, Suarez (for all the talk otherwise) doesn't want to stay here forever. He is always going to want to move to Madrid/Barcelona, and this summer is no different. Even if we kept him, it would be the same next summer if not worse as he realises he's getting older. Every year we will go through the farce of not knowing whether he will kick up a fuss to leave and be left figuring out how we can replace him. People talk about keeping him as if it's as simple as us just deciding to do so, but when you hear reports than his reps have been speaking to Barcelona all summer, then you realise that all the "he's happy to stay here" talk is ultimately empty. If it's not this year, it will be next.
This is before you even get into discussing the very real risk (if not bordering on certainty) that he's good for a sizable ban a season.
Business wise it makes a lot of sense. Suarez was never going to stay here forever, and if we're prudent with our money, there is no reason we can't be just as good next year if not better. Atletico have just broken RM/Barcelona's 10 year stranglehold on La Liga the year after selling their best player.
Whatever ends up happening, I'm excited for the next chapter.

I was in the Liverpool shop yesterday and I remember seeing Coutinho shirts and Sturridge and Gerrard but I don't remember seeing Suarez shirts.
I wasn't really paying attention in the context of the Suarez situation so maybe I just didn't notice but it's just something that's come to my mind now. I don't remember seeing a Suarez shirt.
I remember when Torres left I bought my son a Torres shirt at Christmas. It was his first shirt with a players name on it instead of his own name. I was so pissed off.
So, just saying!

Suarez' replacement will come from many pieces joining together.
Sterling will need to step up another level. He was really our best player during the last couple of months of the season anyway. If Suarez leaves, I expect him to be the player who gets the most touches in the final third.
Sturridge will need to be able to carry the scoring threat with most of the defence's attention on him. Maybe he will relish that.
Coutinho and Henderson will need to improve their ability to score in order for us to continue to be a consistent attacking side.
The signings we'll make as well can offset the loss of Suarez. If we gain some depth in the attacking positions, we'll rely less on one player.
I'm not counting us out as title challengers next season even if we lose Suarez, though I don't expect us to win it like I did at the end of the season.

I've got to say I agree. Third best player in the world but we wouldn't be in as difficult a situation as for example Tottenham losing Bale. Our attack is probably the best in the league with or without Suarez.Originally posted by spider-neil View PostTop post from RAWK. I agree with every word and I'm a massive Suarez fan.

I think he's going to shine next season. Sterling will progress but will be marked more next year due to his ability. If we achieve the signings we are linked with other clubs arn't going to know who to mark.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostSuarez' replacement will come from many pieces joining together.
