your reaction to the Bordeaux game

First Half I thought was quite good some great possession, and passing clean thru balls, the best I've seen us play for a very very long time. Was an absolute pleasure to watch. They looked confident, passes were efficient and they were clinical.

Into the last 16 with an air of confidence,Hope it stays and shows in the premiereship

Looks like Garcia and Alonso are injured though

    bring it on

We looked way more like a team tonight that's for sure.

Thought Momo and Xabi dominated the middle of midfield, combined with the lively and inventive Gerrard and Garcia we looked very fluent in that department and played some nice footy at times and we're now at long last taking our chances when they come along.

    Keep it going lads!!

I thought we were ****ing boring in the first half and poor in the second half up until their player got sent off then we went up a few gears and started playing some good football.

Not quite so positive i'm afraid. First half i thought we struggled against a 'poor' Bordeaux team.

We looked very vulnerable at times, particularly at the start of the second half. After the sending off it descended into training fare.

Over the course of this season thus far, i think a settled Carra/Agger partnership would serve us better. Given the increased difficultly of games in the later half of the season i think Sami will be found out.

            ....

How well did Riise take that head but. Respect for that! Can't name many pro-footballers that would have reacted so calmly - I certainly wouldn't on a Sunday/Friday fixture.

I thought we were fairly decent first half, without pulling up any trees. Xabi looks like he's well on his way back to his best, especially with that sublime ball he played just before half time.

Regarding risse and the headbutt, that's exactly how I want to see a liverpool player take one, none of this ****ing nancy boy play acting, top man.

I almost threw the remote at the telly when that Bordeaux ****** stuck his head into wee Ginger of all people.
Not a nasty bone in JAR's body, fair and honest a player as they come, never see him dive, never see him make an intentional bad tackle, what did Riise do to him anyway?

Hardly deserves a headbutt does it? Typical french - can't take it when things don't go there way

I believe the player sent off is Brazilian.

                        It was flat.

                        They had no end product.

Our passing was poor at times.

Hyypia was the worst culprit of all. Time for Agger to return.

Not overly impressed at all really.

Build up way too slow - and a distinct lack of a cutting edge. Never got behind their defence and therefore we almost passed ourselves to sleep in front of them.

The sending off ended the game as a contest and we saw it through with ease.

Having said all of that - the game was low key and we were always gonna win and I felt the players knew that and hence we never made it out of second gear.

Played rather poorly and won 3-0. Not all bad is it?

I was very frustrated with our play though and the two 2nd half goals only came about as Bordeaux kinda self-destructed. Aside from a 10 minute spell in the 1st half, our passing was very sloppy and we lacked creativity. Crouch & Kuyt were given nothing to go on - until the red card and Kuyt came alive. It was pretty disconcerting seeing Bordeaux knock it around Anfield with aplomb in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half. There were times when we couldn't get the ****ing ball off them!

Poor performance but not to worry eh? I'd take poor performances and 3-0 wins most weeks.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
