your reaction to the Bordeaux game

Tough one really - Kuyt did well, as did Sissoko, Gerrard Alonso and Garcia.

Think our problems came from the back, it really is annoying me at how long Finnan takes to give a pass and when it does it's usually back to Carra.

Carra was fairly quiet, but didn't have much to do. Same for Hyypia, but it got up field a few times, and Riise was fairly quiet, first time I think we saw him was when he got the headbutt. Backs up my comment after the Villa game that we don't seem to build up from the back, and that's why I'd like to see Agger, but I wouldn't say Hyypia is playing poorly.

Also Crouch was very quiet today, held the ball up at times, but fairly anonymous in the final third. Might have been a good match for Bellamy to play in.

Also it was always going to be a tricky game, especially when we went 1-0 up because Bordeaux had nothing to lose then, and it showed when they threw a few dirty tackles in, and particularly with the JAR headbutt. Think we put in a professional performance in the end and handled it well, without lowering ourselves to their level.

Alonso was very, very poor tonight - given his high standards - i suspect he was carrying a knock into this game. We all know Rafa is loathe to break up Momo and Xavi.

Mate, you cant deny that anfield is getting more and more ****ified. this season is getting really bad and it seriously needs addressing.

Euro nights are usually better tho, but must admit haven't had the occasion to go yet this season. The reason you probably notice it more, is because we didn't really have ****s at the club previously, does seem to have been a bit worse since the Euro Cup win tho.

More ****s and more cheap Soccer AM style chants and songs more befitting of Millwall or other lower league nonentities.

But we can't have it both ways. What would we rather? Not win Big Ears and not have a minority (albeit a vocal one) of ****s, or win it (with more glory to come, hopefully) and attract more fans (and the consequential financial benefits)?

I know what I'd rather.
