You'd have to read between the lines and maybe conclude he didnt refuse to play, but then he doesnt explicitly state that. Personally he would have been better off telling the truth when Hodgson was in charge as opposed to us being owned by different owners, having a new manager and generally being on the up

Agreed. But dont really get his timing. This kind of thing really annoys me. Talks about caring for the club, fans etc but 3 or 4 years later its time to put the record straight? Weird.

IIRC, this is old news and was already clarified some time ago.
