Welcome Charlie. I'm very pleased with this signing. I liked the touch of Kenny driving him to Melwood. Looking forward to a quicker tempo to our play next season with Charlie spraying the ball around, not to mention corners

I repeat again, if he were spanish and we had signed him from Villareal most people on here would be nursing semi's. He is a cracking footballer Adam. And watching these clips and having watched him play I'd say the player he resembles most to me is Xabi Alonso.

The only worry I have is his "terrible" fitness levels. He went out of puff in nearly all the games they played against the top 5 last season, he's done really well initially then his legs went off. This can be improved I know. There's also the fact that he will operate under even less space than he was used at Blackpool, so he'll have to improve his passes to completion ratio under those conditions.

I actually think he'll be better off in a good side cause there are more threats for the opposing side to worry about other than just Charlie Adam. That can free him up and help release the shackles that he'd be under at a small club as the only out and out threat. Anyway, time will tell

I'm right in the 'with better coaches and with better players then fitter will Charlie be' corner. I think he could be super duper for us
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I think it's clear Kenny rates him. If Kenny was my boss, I'd be a champion, what a man.

I'm not sure I agree with this. He was involved in a relegation battle with Blackpool in the same league as he will be playing in with us. If anything having better players around him should give him more time on the ball in better positions with better options

One things for sure, one bad pass from Adan and the supporters who need a Lucas/Kuyt/Johnson whipping boy will be howling with displeasure.

But teams set up very differently against us than they do against Blackpool, you get more room playing in a poorer team than you often will playing for us.

Long comparison story time! I remember when Dalglish signed Jon Dahl Tomasson for la Toon. My mates moaned incessantly about how **** he was. He looked so out of place there it was unbelievable. Anyway, one day I was talking to someone else about it who said that Tomasson was far too good for La Toon at that time. He was talking about the runs he was making and the space he would create. His view was that Newcastle players were either too thick to either use the space he'd created or not intelligent enough to predict his runs and that the fans were also too dense to notice what was going on.

See Adam at Blackpool. He'd have been a better player statistically if those around him had more game intelligence and were able to react to what he was trying a bit quicker. I'd even suggest that he was playing within himself to cater for simpletons like DJ Campbell. We'll see a far different Adam

But would other teams not have paid more attention to him. He was their main threat and was marked accordingly. Teams aren't going to do the same now. I mean, they aren't likely to stick 3 men on Adam and subsequently let Suarez and Gerrard run wild are they?

Our fitness team is a world away from the set-up Blackpool had. i remember reading they had to beg for a conditioning coach, which they didn't receive. Im sure Burgess and co will whip him into shape. If he isn't fit enough, Kenny wont play him.
