Thanjk you.

But teams set up very differently against us than they do against Blackpool, you get more room playing in a poorer team than you often will playing for us.
I see your point but I think it is difficult to put football in the simplistic terms as we both have really. I see Adam as the type of player who will drop off and look to find space as Alonso did. If he is canny enough he should find it no problem, I don't believe there is as big a difference in the fundamentals of football based on who you are playing for and against, but that the over all quality of your team should prove important in the opportunities you get on the ball and the quality of possession. I imagine Adam's primary role will be to quickly turn defensive possession into attacking opportunities using his passing to release Surez, Kuyt et al. And his undoubted ability with a dead ball to look for Carroll. I stand by the fact that his signing lacks glamour for most supporters. A lot of supporters didn't acknowledge the job Alonso did for us for the majority if his stay and I other than the last season he was with us he didn't always win all the plaudits from our supporters.
But would other teams not have paid more attention to him. He was their main threat and was marked accordingly. Teams aren't going to do the same now. I mean, they aren't likely to stick 3 men on Adam and subsequently let Suarez and Gerrard run wild are they?
Think that's a really good point.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
Long comparison story time! I remember when Dalglish signed Jon Dahl Tomasson for la Toon. My mates moaned incessantly about how **** he was. He looked so out of place there it was unbelievable. Anyway, one day I was talking to someone else about it who said that Tomasson was far too good for La Toon at that time. He was talking about the runs he was making and the space he would create. His view was that Newcastle players were either too thick to either use the space he'd created or not intelligent enough to predict his runs and that the fans were also too dense to notice what was going on.
See Adam at Blackpool. He'd have been a better player statistically if those around him had more game intelligence and were able to react to what he was trying a bit quicker. I'd even suggest that he was playing within himself to cater for simpletons like DJ Campbell. We'll see a far different Adam
Good comparison. Exactly, he has been brought in to create chances. With better forwards in front of him we should see him involved in more succesful assists. Either that or should we be looking to sign DJ Campbell as well.
But would other teams not have paid more attention to him. He was their main threat and was marked accordingly. Teams aren't going to do the same now. I mean, they aren't likely to stick 3 men on Adam and subsequently let Suarez and Gerrard run wild are they?
The thing is that teams (like Chelsea) did do it for Alonso when he was operating as the 'quarterback' for us despite us having Gerrard and Torres in the team. Alonso had the class to deal with being targeted when it happened. I guess it remains to be seen whether a/ we use Adam in a similar way or b/ Adam can handle that treatment when presented with better players around him.

I wouldn't be too unhappy if we lined up like that for the first game of the season
I'd be surprised if we didn't bring in one or two more new faces which would complicate things though
It'll be a nice headache for Kenny to have for a change
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.
