Looking from the outside...its a purely awful deal.
However, it's clear that he is a complete non-entity at Liverpool....not in Kenny's plans, not trusted to perform if kept in the squad, not up to task of playing either willingly or unwillingly etc etc.....whatever the reason, he's history

It's a completely **** deal for us (if the breakdown above is correct). At the very, very least they should be covering his entire wages.

What a shambolic transfer from start to finish.

A terrible signing from the start. And I don't understand why some here thinks he should play for us when he all he wants is to return to Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that Aquilani to Milan deal is now done. Loan deal but Milan obliged to buy if he plays more than 25 games. #lfc

If he doesnt meet the requirements he's either been **** or injured. So at least theres a trigger to make it permanent unlike last season at Juve.

Probably cos he is a very good player how is capable of plenty of creativity which is something our team is at present a little short on.

Got to wonder why no one wants him in that case. Napoli prefer Inler, Juve prefer spending the wages on Pirlo etc etc

Lot of teams want him but his wages are outside their reach.

The ones that can afford his wages for the most part all know he wants to go back (to selected clubs though) and we are not so keen on keeping him so they are dictating terms that I personally find laughable.

But if he's so good you'd think Inter, Juve or Milan would be lapping up this cheap asking price not trying to get a loan deal, Juventus didnt even want to keep this incredible player.

                      Why would they though?

Juve made us a laughing stock with that loan deal last year and if any other italian club can have him in the similar fashion on free for an entire season why would they waste any of their limited transfer budget especially if we are going to pick up part of his wages too.

Because they'd want a good player for years? But Juventus deemed him not good enough while continuing to sign a load of other players they had on loan.

He's that incredible you'd think Milan would pick up the bargain now and not risk losing him next summer once Inter realise how great he is.

The fact there isnt one club out there that will give us a decent fee for him unfortunately says far more about him than our negotiating skills.

If he was that good he wouldn't be sulking in Liverpool now. But I would prefer him to stay before this horrible loan deal.

Me too, I'd rather keep him than loan him out. Could defo be a good option for the squad but god he's overrated by some on here!

We should bite the bullet and keep him not that I think it will happen now.

He could be a very key player for us in many different ways this year and I'm confident that Kenny would know exactly how to use him.

I also think he would get much more playing time and enter the rotation regularly if he would stay but I guess all that doesn't matter now.

This is dragging for far too long and personally I cannot wait for this saga to be over either way.

All this assumes hes going to nuckle down and not sulk (because he doesnt really want to be in this country)

Which is a massive risk imo
