Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Good post.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostYep, and I don't think it sets a good example to other clubs. Spurs want to loan Cole now. And we'll probably do that as well. The same thing happened with Chelsea a few years ago - total mugs.
We're losing a player who is good enough for the first team squad (at the very least!) and we're gaining what... we save about 70% on his wages. ****ing wow. What a deal!
And if he goes there and plays well... well then we hit the jackpot. 6 million euros baby! Just think who we could buy with that. Fabian ****ing Delph cost that a couple of years ago.
I have to say, I'm really not bowled over by our activity in the transfer market thus far. We've spent over 100 million pound in the transfer market now since January - incredible backing from the owners. And Suarez and Enrique aside, I don't think we've improved THAT much.
Early days and all that, and I know what this message sounds like. But I consider myself to be a patient fan, and I am a bit worried to say the least!!!!Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Provided all his wages are met, Spurs loaning Cole is an entirely different thing, considering he signed on a free. Aquilani is moving closer to the end of a contract with each transfer window which will only ever drive his price lower. It's complete wank to keep loaning him out, really crap.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostYep, and I don't think it sets a good example to other clubs. Spurs want to loan Cole now. Alberto Aquilani is ready to make an impact at AC Milan as his loan move from Liverpool nears completion.
The 27-year-old underwent a medical in Milan this morning and is set to join the Italian side on an initial loan deal.
Milan will have an option to make the move permanent if the former Roma playmaker makes at least 25 appearances this season.

"I am delighted to have arrived here," said Aquilani. "This is a leap in my career.
"I have come to Milan to do well.
"I have different characteristics to (former AC Milan midfielder) Andrea Pirlo but this is a further responsibility for me.
"I believe I can play in all positions in midfield.
"The clause of making at least 25 appearances? It's not a problem for me and I'm not thinking about it.
"I will do everything possible to earn the trust of the club."
Aquilani, who spent last season on loan at Juventus before returning to Anfield earlier this summer, is under contract with Liverpool until June 2014.

Liverpool sign Alberto Aquilani for £20m to fill Xabi Alonso's berth
Rafael BenÃtez instantly filled the hole left by Xabi Alonso at Liverpool yesterday when he agreed a £20m fee with Roma for their midfield playmaker Alberto Aquilani.
As soon as Alonso signed a four‑year contract worth £3.8m a year after tax with Real Madrid then Liverpool announced they had struck a deal for his replacement. Aquilani has agreed a five-year contract worth £85,000 a week, with the move dependent on a medical on Merseyside tomorrow.
The 25-year-old has been hampered by injury at Roma and made his last appearance for the club in their Champions League defeat by Arsenal in March. A gifted, attack-minded midfielder, Aquilani made only 14 appearances in Serie A last season and is still recovering from an operation on his right ankle in May. He is not expected to be fit for the start of the new Premier League season, which begins for Liverpool at White Hart Lane on 16 August, and BenÃtez will have to be convinced of the Italian's fitness to complete the transfer.
"Alberto is a very good player and I'm delighted we've reached agreement with Roma for his transfer," said BenÃtez. "Alberto has a winning mentality and great experience in both Serie A and the Champions League. He has long been recognised as a top-class talent in Italy, captaining his country at both Under-19 and Under-21 levels before establishing himself in the senior national side."
Liverpool opened talks with Roma about Aquilani several weeks ago in readiness for Alonso's anticipated move to the Bernabéu and finalised a fee as soon as Real completed their £30m deal. BenÃtez said he had hoped to keep his compatriot even after Alonso announced he wished to leave Anfield in May, but granted his wish once Real met the £30m asking price.
"We would have liked to have kept him but as soon as he told us that he wanted to leave we started working, looking for players and trying to do the best deal for the club," BenÃtez said. "It has been too long, since May, that he told us he wanted to leave and after the official transfer request we were working very hard. The first idea was to keep him, and the second one was to find the best price and the best replacement for us."
Financial pressures at Roma have forced the club to sell the Italian international, who rejected moves to Arsenal and Chelsea as a teenager to play for his boyhood club. Aquilani made his first team debut at 18 under the then Giallorossi manager Fabio Capello, made his Italy debut in 2006 and played for them at Euro 2008.

This. Unfortunately.Originally posted by Chris View PostBecause they'd want a good player for years? But Juventus deemed him not good enough while continuing to sign a load of other players they had on loan.
He's that incredible you'd think Milan would pick up the bargain now and not risk losing him next summer once Inter realise how great he is.
The fact there isnt one club out there that will give us a decent fee for him unfortunately says far more about him than our negotiating skills. It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.
