Dont care that they had so many players missing. There forward line hasnt been diminished that much and they still couldnt get past us. Besides the foul on Agger in our box, that was the closest they came to troubling Pepe.
So what that there missing defenders. Boo ****ing hoo. We are missing one of our best players in Gerrard and the current england right back. **** happens.
Good performance from the lads and GREAT result away from home. What a difference a year makes hey...
Pretty much spot on there. Cannot believe the negativity from some on here. Our resurrection was never gonna be a quick one was it?. I'm very happy with KK's signings so far. Carroll's defo a player given a bit of time. Couple of goals will do him a world of good. Downing's contributing as are Adam and Henderson. Nothing earth shattering but nothing worthy of massive criticism either. Enrique looks absolute quality. I'm just happy we're movin' in the right direction. Let the manager manage I say.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Not all kids, no. But throw in 4 or 5 kids and the rest first team 'fringe' players - seriously, some of our bench are now internationals and they need to be able to beat ****ing Exeter.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postmassive mistake if thats the way we approach it. we can only win 3 trophies, we need to rotate some of the players but we need to avoid going out here. Besides youngsters playing alongside established players always has a better outcome then just putting the reserves out.
I guess the keeper will change. I'd play Kelly unless Johnson is looking for fitness. Carra and Agger. Same left back, try and get a togetherness about them. Spearing & Raul to start. We don't have many choices upfront if you want to rest Suarez & Carroll. I'd play the big man and get some goals from him. Rest Kuyt, perhaps on a monthly basis.

I don't think we're good enough yet to do a utd. as we've seen with no suarez, we have little flair. Maxi should get a game. Exeter will be up for it and in our faces, too many untried players is asking for trouble. Playing doni is a big enough risk imo.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostNot all kids, no. I agree with this completely.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostBrilliant team performance today, great spirit and togetherness, and the reaction from the players to the away end at the final whistle was brilliant too.
Jose Enrique was absolutely superb, solid as a rock defensively and produced a few brilliant runs forward as well. Great composure, good technique on the ball and just an all round excellent footballer. £5m, thankyou very much. MOTM.
Suarez made the winning impact, as expected, the sending off helped but Luis Suarez is always going to make things happen
Martin Kelly, lovely solid and assured display, great to see.
Delighted with the midfield trio of Lucas, Adam and Henderson - none of them will get a 'superstar' review but as a collective, they were excellent and made it very difficult for Arsenal to get time and composure on the ball.
Carra was great, some crucial bits of defending in there, and Agger too combined with the other 3 to make a very good back four today.
Dirk worked hard and did well, as did Downing too.
Just an all round efficiently good team performance and the one thing which made me so proud, was the way the lads, as a collective, bossed Arsenal. In their own back yard. Great to see.
This has the potential to turn into a very good start to the season. One game at a time though, must keep focused and level headed. Bolton wont come to Anfield with the white flag waving. Hopefully the kids will go to Devon on Wednesday night and do the job to keep the momentum flowing.

Don't get upset. You had an agenda against Carroll from the very off slagging him off before he had even played for us. You said you would give him the benefit of the doubt but in that same very thread you immediately went back to your negative comments.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostIndeed, classy use of the english language, don't you think?
He is two games in to the season where he has already had one perfectly acceptable goal ruled out and was doing the unenviable job of being the lone target man with very little support, cushing balls perfectly back in to midfield only to find the receiver pumps it over his head while still barely past the half way line.
It's all very well lauding Suarez but he came on to a game that was completely different from that which Carroll contributed.
Don't like my comment then say as much instead of looking for someone to back you up.

They're a 3rd division side. Our second string (with several full internationals in it) should be capable.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI don't think we're good enough yet to do a utd. as we've seen with no suarez, we have little flair. Ok, I see your point, but for me I have seen no reason to back him on form. He has done nothing. I don't like the style of football we play when he plays for us and I know there are a lot more out there who aren't enthused by him at all. On form, he doesn't deserve a place in the team. The team are more dangerous offensively when he isn't playing.Originally posted by Chrono View PostDon't get upset. You shouldn't call me a ****ing spastic because I don't agree with you. I haven't said that about you, or anyone else who has a different opinion to me. I'm not attacking anybody personally, I just don't rate Carroll. He's not a classic LFC player.

I said last week that unless he scores a hat trick every week nobody will be happy, I thought he worked hard and did his bit to tire out the defenders, Very unlucky with his header to.
Adams radar was a little bit off today which didnt help Carroll, but i thought overall he did a decent enough job._____________________________________

I hadn't read through the thread completely before my post so it wasn't aimed at you, it just so happened you fell in to the category
I think once we know how to play with Carroll he will prove to be easily LFC class. The difference for me is that Suarez can do it alone where as Carroll relies on others to produce the same, not his fault it;s just the way his game is. When we start playing to his strengths and he is fully up and running there isn't a team that won't be bricking it at his presence.
Based on the stats earlier in this thread he clearly played well in what was given to him I just think the team let him down to a certain degree.
