I think over all the 2 windows have been very good, we have got rid of the deadwood and players that didn't want to be here (Torres, Meireles) and brought in young, hungry players who will fight for the cause and the squad is a lot lot stronger.

Having made wholesale changes now which will benefit us going forward as we will only need to tweak the squad and also having spent approx £115 mill whilst recouping approx £75 means we have signed 7 players for approx £40 mill which means roughly £6mill a player as well as shaving £30mill off the wages bill... so come Jan/next summer we could splash out on a Hazard type player as the money should be there !!!

Have to agree with Commolli as it was a high risk strategy & his praise for the owners to put themselves on the sword like that. I reckon without Commolli presenting this strategy to the owners, don't think it would have been that successful so I think kudos should go to all of them as they all played a blinder!

It's great to know that at last we have a world class team from the top down to the tea lady at Anfield/Melwood...YWNA Everybody!

Very coherent but I don't agree with much of it.

It basically boils down to this - we no longer sell because the bank tells us, we sell because we want to. So it all makes sense to someone at the club, and I'd be very surprised if that doesn't include Dalglish.

I don't know the ins and outs of it but I'd rather go with the club's judgement than your speculations.

As for being rumbled by Chelsea or doing things clubs in the Champions League wouldn't do, well, I don't give a sh*t about any of that. It's pure guesswork anyway and we aren't in the same position as them.

And keeping a player who wants to leave but who is struggling to get into the team even with Gerrard injured may be something Moneybags City or Ferguson would do but I don't see why that means we should do it.

So, it's a pity you don't like selling Meireles but life's like that, we can't have everything.

I was happy to sell him if we didn't sell him to a team in direct competition for Top 4, and if we bought in an out and out winger to replace him.
I'm well aware of the fact we are over crowded in the midfield, but with only have one specialist winger in amongst them, we could have problems if he gets injured for a month or so.

So you weren't happy to sell him if we didn't get another winger in, yeah? Or have I somehow missed your logic in your linking of two separate issues?

If you're unhappy with us not buying another "specialist winger" (and I'm not sure Downing's role is exactly like that and he's certainly capable of other roles, as England showed the other night) then that's another matter.

And it's still not one that bothers me. But then worrying about "what happens if..." when you have no control over the situation seems to me like a waste of energy.

You've said that to me before - and then, not too long ago, you posted something you were unhappy about, football-wise. And i replied, that since you have no control over it, shouldnt you not let it bother you? You replied no, and gave some kind reason why that was different

To put it bluntly, and for the benefit of other posters, it should be put in your signature that you never basically disagree with any decision the club makes. Easier all round, that way

I'm sorry your not happy with my reasons but the squad is unbalanced width-wise. In todays game you need wingers with pace - we have one - we should have two. It's not like we didn't have the money for another winger now is it?
Downing is an out and out winger for LFC, that's why he's played as a left and right winger so far this season... And yes, wingers are allowed to cut in.

I don't buy your point about 'what ifs', look at our central midfield, we have 5 players in there for injuries and further what ifs...

Please don't think for any second I'm disrespecting LFC, it's just how I feel, and it certainly hasn't dampened my support and never will.
It's just my observation, nothing more, nothing less.
