Dropped points at home, dropped points in a style all too familiar against Stoke...OK we won a game at the worst Arsenal side in the last few years (which I expected us to win), standard win against Bolton (still our best performance).....added to one of the worst performances in a long time today.
IMO its pretty shocking given whats expected.
Its not been great but shocking? Nah, dont see how 7 points from 15 with 3 ridiculously tough away games is shocking at all. Lose or draw v Wolves then it suddenly does look bad but not buying that this season has been a disaster so far, no way. You want "shocking" then go and look at Hodgson's first 8 games or whole reign, thats shocking.

      Good debut alright.

(not his performance I mean, but for memorability)

He did make a couple of good runs today and was only let down by the delivery, otherwise he would've had created a goal scoring chance for himself

Its a statement based on what happened today though really isn't it?

Don't forget that he made a couple of excellent tackles in midfield positions.

It's not even about what he does himself, it's about what it takes away from the team as a whole. Against good opposition, we cant really afford to be carrying passengers, which is what he is currently, whoever's fault it is.

We can afford that at home to ****e sides. Not away to difficult opposition.

Granted that's a whole other level. I mean, I had me noose already made up, but I'll be damned I'm getting into a discussion about which start is worse

Not sure if you're joking but he did. He was chasing all over the place, and kept his head which showed growing maturity

                    Start Carroll, stop Liverpool

The football we play without him is massively superior to when he's in the side. Kuyt and Suarez are a far better option.

I'm really not. He did well there and surprised me.

                      No sarcasm.

utds 8 2 demolition of arsenal puts that result into context and then we needed an arsenal player sent off and a lucky deflection. until that point we'd created nothing.

stoke away we should have got a draw but didnt. spurs away we were battered well and truly. todays result should give us a better indication of where we are as a club and the kind of job kenny has done.

                        its simply not good enough.

Utter tosh really, it's got **** all to do with the mancs result, we won away at Arsenal, which was a 'result' away from home - something you said we werent getting.

I love the way you take into account the impact of the sending off at Arsenal, but ignore the impact of us having TWO red cards today.

I agree, he wouldn't be a starter in my team but, strangely, it was once the whole team was under pressure that he stood up and was prepared to take Spurs on. The only disappointing thing was that he was playing far too deep by then and it was only in a defensive role
