Cant excuse the lack of effort and quality from our team but that coupled with what has to be one of the worst refereeing displays ive seen in a long time we were lucky it wasnt 6-0.

The referee's association need to look at that guys performance and take some action.
Really, are those stats right, your saying we only made 9 fouls, and from those 9, 6 were yellows and 2 reds ? seems almost impossible.

is someone really saying we don't have the money to dig ourselves out of 7th place after we just spent over 100 million in 6 months?

        And one other word.... Skrtel.

What the ****? I think he has more to answer for than any other player out there yesterday. Or maybe kenny for playing him right back?

9 fouls 6 yellows yes, of which 2 were second yellows resulting in reds.

How much of it came from sales though ? 70-80 mill ?

And i'd be more worried at the fact we seem to have spent 100mill(players in) and still need digging out of 7th.

The biggest puzzle of yesterday is why we didn't play Flannagan on the rb - at least in retrospect. I would even think that Carragher would have been a better choice there, he is more versatile and have played the position a number of times before.

i'm not overly concerned where the money came from. we happened to make a fair deal in sales these last windows. and in the future there will be other sources for our income. the bottom line is we spent that money. we may have chosen the players poorly, but "can't afford players" is not the problem.

Bit of a risk chucking IN an 18 year old Flanagan, who's already endured one torrid afternoon already this season, against Bale.

As I've already said I'd have gone with Carragher there every time, and against Stoke, although I don't think it would've made too much difference to the result.

I also think we're a CM light now. All the talk of having millions of midfielders and now with Aquilani and Meireles gone we look light.

I didn't I picked the majority of the transfers.

Enrique we paod a low price for because his contract had only a year left thus a bargain.

Adam only a yeat left but £7m is still too much for him. When people close him down and get tight (as per Spurs) he gets found out very quickly.

                      Coates too early to say.

Suarez is a decision made in hindsight. Many thought the price too rich at the time. It is only the performances since that have shown that not to be true.

So unfortunately our transfers dealings have been poor in terms of price paid and the areas of the team addressed

Who did? Anyone who'd seen him play knew he was dynamite. You call it "hindsight", I call it evidence. Regardless of your "hindsight", he was a ****ing bargain whether you like it or not. £50m would've been more like it.

It would be a risk putting him in there, but at least he would have more speed to cope with spurs left side, although he might come short in his positioning and experience. At some point though Flannagan needs to get these type of games under his skin.

Not sure switching Carragher and Skrtel would have made the difference, but our positional sense on the pitch would have been better, and I honestly doubt Carragher would have gotten that second yellow he is more composed than that IMO.

I still reckon we have plenty in CM, we were just overmatched yesterday. Adam got sent off and Lucas for once did not manage to get control of the mid. And throwing in Aquilani or Meireles in the game yesterday would have done us nothing in controlling a midfield we physically got hammered in IMO.

Not sure I'm too depressed tbh. Being really clattered will force management in to making changes, a 1-0 loss would've been accepted more.

We can easily win 6-8 away games this season, beating mid table teams. Not all of them will reduce the game to a brawl, or have the benefit of a dodgy ref. I'm tempted to not look at the league until the middle of November.
