Thanjk you.

So what you're saying is that 4th place is going to be a battle to see which of the two most consistently inconsistent teams can be most consistent.
Neither ourselves, Spurs or Arsenal will have the consistency to mount a title challenge. Whichever one of the three manages to minimise this problem, will finish 4th.
Have to remain upbeat and there are some positives, the biggest one being Gerrard will be coming back. Also, it was a reality check for the new boys just in case they were thinking too far ahead of themselves.
Coates has also been blooded - welcome to the PL son!
Some negatives still linger for me as well. My biggest concern is Henderson. I honestly hand on heart just cannot see anything in the boy. Really am missing it completely I am sure, but I am struggling to see what he offers the team right now.
Yep, this seems to have been forgotten that we've been without arguably our best outfield player (maybe second now) for pretty much the whole of Kenny's reign, thats some boost to the team when he's back.
I'd be interested to see how Spurs do without Modric for 5-6 months. Think we saw in their early season performance without him it aint pretty!
I agree on Henderson, not sure what he's meant to be really but he does need some time to be fair, should be dropped for Maxi or Dirk though. Carra is a big worry aswell but theres not a lot we can do about that until January now.
Re Henderson, i think he would flourish most in a 3-man central midfield.
Kind of a 433 when we're attacking, with 3 CMs and 2 wide forwards, and 451 when we're defending.
In such a system, he has 2 other CMs to back him up if it turns into a battle. And he would also have the freedom to get forward, knowing there'll be protection behind him. Plus he has the vision to spot good balls into wide areas of space.

Sadly I'm not so sure, On paper we have a decent team and squad, on the pitch we always seem to have issues, we're nowhere near clinical enough in front of goal as was shown in the Sunderland and Stoke games. At other times like yesterday problems look more serious
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If we were to play that kind of system, when everyone is fit, wouldn't Gerrard be first in line for that role?

Kenny said this week that nobody is guaranteed a starting place, he needs to prove that by dropping some of his signings and I'd drop Carra too if we hadn't just lost sicknote again. Henderson has done nothing to earn his place or keep it and should be out of the team due to that but he plays every game. Same can be said for Adam at the moment who has been poor for the last 2 games. At least he dropped himself with the red card.
Incidentally what game do him and Skrtel miss, is it Brighton or wolves?
He's dropped the most expensive one for 2 of our last 3 league games.
And the 2 I refer too have been equally **** and still play. Others on the bench deserve their chance to show they can do better. Hopefully they get and take that chance on Wednesday then keep their place every for wolves

Maybe he just rates them and or doesnt think theres a better alternative at the mo? If you think Kenny lacks balls then I give up!
Did I say he lacks balls? I said I hope he shows it instead of just saying it. Dropping one signing is one thing, dropping 3 out 5 that were bought as first teamers is a big step. I'm sure he will take it, just hope he doesn't wait too long.
Poorly performing players can get better with perseverance but there comes a point in time where dropping them is the only option.
If he thinks none of the squad offer better than Henderson at the moment then he has me worried. As for Adam, I think stevie will be taking his place anyway.
We play pass and hide football at the moment instead of pass and move! The movement off the ball was shocking yesterday. Lost count of the times a player would get the ball, look up and realise his team mates had deserted him.
Too many players went missing and hid. We need 10 Suarezs out there at the moment.
Why are people so obsessed with the size, and even existence, of Dalglish's balls?
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
