The DVD I own has all the matches on it, including Olympiakos and Milan. I hope you had noticed that there were two sentences, the first one related to Neil's point, the second one related to the first sentence.

Try and keep up, young Syd.

To your original question, with the glasses on, we are obviously first, without them on, we are not in the top ten.

I think not in the top ten is a bit harsh, personally.

I dont think there are 10 who are better than us, but i also dont think we're 'comfortably' in the top 10, as it were.

I've warned people about this before....

If you piss on bonfires all your life then sooner or later you will end up with a burnt cock.

PSV's European record is pretty good over the last few season's isn't it? And I wouldn't think Copenhagen are significantly better than Bordeaux if at all.

Well the same sentance applies to Liverpool so why are Utd in a higher batch?

Well youre painting the picture that they are only in second gear and stand a better chance than we do, yet we have played ****/2nd gear football and have qualified. Their group is no ****tier than ours. Without the Red glasses on, Id still say we had the best, if not joint with Chelsea, of winning the thing.

                      Inter Milan

I'd be very surprised if any side from the third batch wins it though.
No one like you for turning a thread ****

there will be 16 teams after the group stage and all have as good a chance of any at winning it.

                      Remember Porto v Monaco?

There's absolutely no reason we can't win it, and to base it on our league performance is ridiculous, where did we finish in the league when we won it 5th? If you were looking at all performances why aren't Man U up there with Chelsea?

I despair when I read one of your replies, if ever there was a use for the ignore function, you'd be a good example of it.

i said this before the end of last season -

man utd will win the league, chelsea will win the champions league.

I really do think it will happen.

I think we will either get to the semis or the quarters - just depends on whether we finish top of this group and whether teams like madrid etc... finsihs second in theirs etc...

                          No loosening needed mate

I am very realistic, we have serious problems domesticaly away from home, I don't think Rafa knows how deal with teamslike Bolton and the players lack confidence/attitude.

However over 2 legs, with Anfield in all it's European night glory and passion
plus the points I mentioned earlier I truly believe that we can beat anyone.
I don't think we have any chance of winning no 19 this season(although I would love to be proved wrong) but no 6 is a possibility

We did it 2 years ago with the same manager and a weaker squad, so why not now??
                          Not rose tinted, realistic

How, by responding to the original post and realistically listing those clubs most likely to win the competition, have I 'turned the thread ****'.

If anyone has done the aforementioned, it's you, by taking a rather deluded and misplaced sideswipe at me, for no apparant reason whatsoever.

                            You're embarrassing.

                              Hardly a bollox arguement.
How many seasons have United been qualified for the Champions League in consecutive seasons and been up amongst the hot favourites? Every season is how much. Yet the only won it once and when they did they had a horse shoe up their arse.
They are not as suited to the Champions League as they are to the Premiership.
Rafa is a European manager who is more used to the continental style. IT is argueable, depite the odds affered by book makers that we under Rafa are better suited to the champions League, especially when you consider we only won it two seasons ago.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

                                Maybe you're right.

There's no doubt we COULD win it, but we'd need a (lot of) luck and a favourable draw, in my opinion.
