How did we do last season or all seasons previous at Stoke's place? No where near as good as this season that's for sure. I can't remember many games last season either where we created 20 odd chances in any game.

The difference between the little good spell that the side had last season is they were a lot more clinical infront of goal. A lot of bad games have been conveniently forgot about too when people chat about this free flowing football we played at the back end of last season. We were nowhere near as good as now imo.

Only poor finishing has stopped us from deservedly winning every game except the tottenham one. Where as last season Blackpool, West Ham, Tottenham & Villa were all deserved victors, and that's just after the bodge ****ed off.

90% of our creativity has come from Suarez and we have looked average in quite a few games this season, we do not at present look cohesive. Downing has been average with poor decision making, Henderson looks hit and miss at present (though he is young) and Adam tires too easily, can't tackle and needs space, he is ineffective when pressured.

During our good spell last season we also played much better football.

all fair points. i do think that the Gerrard/Lucas partnership will become more prominent throughout the season though.

Unless we went for something like:

        -----------Reina------------
        Kelly-Agger-Carra-Enrique
        -----------Lucas------------
        Bellamy---------------Maxi
        -----Gerrard--Adam-------
        -----------Suarez-----------

We're nine games into the season, what's these quite a few games we've looked average in?

Beat Arsenal & Bolton. Should have beat utd, Norwich, Stoke, Sunderland. Poor finishing at fault for all of those, created more chances in those games then any defeat or draw last season. Tottenham we were worse then average, I'll give you that one.

Played better football when last season? For four or five game spell a lot longer into the season then nine games, maybe. There was a good spell of football but it was nowhere near as long, nor did we create as many chances as we're doing now that some want to look back on with rose tinted specs.

If you want to forget a lot of games were we struggled to create any meaningful attempts on goal then that's fine. They happened though, and I'm not chatting about when bodge was still here. Both before and after the bodge the side was nowhere near as creative as they are now. The list of games were we created nothing of note is a lot longer then it should be for a big club.

It's not just the strikers at fault for the poor finishing though, all three of those midfielders I mentioned have been at fault for some horrid misses too, it's spread throughout the whole side tbh.

We looked poor against Everton for a lot of the game and against United. We were terrible in the second half against Sunderland and against Norwich, we completely lacked guile against Stoke. Tottenham was about the worst I have seen us in years.

Nearly all we are creating right now is down to one player, Suarez, that is a problem and sadly a lot of the chances created were not hugely clear cut and quite difficult.

Our new signings have also sadly looked average imo (Enrique being the exception), Henderson is young and might come good but Adam and Downing are way too limited for what we want.

If these average players go out and deservedly lose to West Brom next week, like we did last season. Then you might have a point to keep slating them at every opportunity.

I don't slate them at every opportunity, I give credit where it is due.
