Suarez was quiet today and it showed how much we rely on him!
It's the clear strategic issues that concern me most. We have no cohesion or fluidity of play. We presist with players that are guilty of the issues at hand as well as the formation, when better options are available for both.

Not convinced a lot of the chances we create are that clear cut either. Like I say, streams do my head in at the best of times, so fearing the worst & having other stuff to do I didn't watch the game. But even then I'm not convinced that 17 shots against promoted opposition at home is that great a stat anyway.

    Welcome anyway mate.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I do wonder how we would have played under Dalglish last season if we had actually signed Adam in January. Would it have been as incisive and exciting as it was? All we really need is some pace in midfield to provide a platform for intelligent attacking players. We have this in our squad - but it's not being used. Lucas and Spearing would provide that and we could have Suarez, Maxi and Bellamy offering intelligence and pace in attack with Kuyt or Carroll as a physical presence.

It seems that Downing will play in the league no matter what performances he turns in. No wonder Maxi is allegedly so pissed off. If I was him I'd be getting the passport out of the draw and logging on to the Ryan Air website.

        Unfortunately this is absolutely spot-on.

Rafa also had his favourite players but at least he played a system that suited the players.

Kenny is now playing a system that suits him. He isn't getting the best out of the players that way, not even close.

What he must do is to start playing a system that suits the players.

If we play 4-4-2 again then I will scream.

With the ball I don't think he does enough in open play. The only good thing he offers is his set piece delivery, but for me that isn't enough for him to deserve a place in the team.
fair enough and I see your point. but our two best moves from open play both involved adam. the one in the first half out to downing and the ball of the match in the second half. two passes aren't enough on their own but I feel his physique goes against him and people assume he's unfit where as he usually covers the most ground in a game for us. with spearing in behind him I think it'd suit us better.

We will not be 4th with Adam controlling our midfield..

So burn out isn't something I'd worry too much about. sterling running and dribbling at tired legs for 15 minutes would worry the **** out of defenders. I'd also consider morgan too.

I said the other day that I'd be wary about throwing Sterling in at the deep end but I agree. I'd be well excited to see him come on for 15 minutes here and there. Run old defenders ragged. Morgan... hopefully he can keep doing what he's doing too.

Sums him up. Someone else said about him being mentally slow (sounds wrong I know) too. He's a passenger when he starts.

The thing that worries me about the summer signings is that you can't help but wonder would be any worse off if we had just signed Enrique, Bellamy and Coates and persisted with the 4-2-3-1? And that's about a £15 million spend. Frightening stuff.

Kenny has got some serious work ahead of him. His starting line ups and substitutions IMO need looking at. This "Kenny sees players everyday" & " Kenny knows more than you" just doesn't cut it IMO. He made mistakes today, like many other managers the least we can do is admit it and realise that he is not the messiah & he is under pressure.

Now before anyone says witchhunt or personal attack or jumps to defend Kenny, i am related to the bloke(which i'm so proud of), so i'm hardly gonna slag him off and would love for him to do well.

But there has to be a balance in opinion, whether he be a LFC legend or not. He should be judged on what he is doing as a manager & IMO he has a hell of alot to do.

He can do some good things as those moves prove but I believe other people could be more effective than him.

We have much improved squad compared to the last season but the lack of true quality is becoming more and more apparent.

We only need Stevie to be injured and Suarez to have a game off and we cannot win over "relegation" candidate as Swansea.

We really need to take a really long look at our squad and beginning in January start looking to bring a couple of very good players if anybody decent is available.

Missing out on CL this year would be a huge blow that could impact us in so many ways and imo we have to act quickly and try to save the season.

it's dire when we are not beating the newly promoted sides spending that much money to suppose to challenge for 4th.

For me we need to sort out the centre of midfield, if we have someone in the centre of the park pulling the strings and dominating games and dictating play like Alonso did then the team even with the players we have at the moment would be much improved. Adam is no where near the quality needed to do this.

Our best hope is that Gerrard will come back and settle into this role.

Lucas and Adam are no where near as good as Mascherano and Alonso.
