I dont think fsgs whole strategy hinges on us qualifying for the cl this season. they have trimmed an estimated £30m from the wage bill annually and still have the money from the sales of aquilani and cole to come into the club. if there is a new manager there will be money made available plus whatever he sells.
this season has been a disappointment so far and winning the carling cup doesnt make up for it. next season is more important and we need to make sure we have the right man at the helm.
whether its kenny, rafa or whoever we need to get it right.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

I dont know what is more worrying, our poor predicament or the fact that some Liverpool fans can laugh at it.
As for the chances of finishing 4th...well they're minimal to say the least. My main train of thought was that it hadnt gone - because there is plenty of scope for the sides ahead of us to drop plenty of points. Even Spurs proved my point today and Chelsea just about toiled to a 1-0 win vs 10 men. It was always going to be about US doing the right things and clearly, we ****ed that up today.
Was 4th place gone before today? Not in my opinion, on the condition that we performed. We didnt. Is it gone now? Still no, on the condition that we perform. But we seem uttery incapable of it and that is the obvious problem. The sides above us will keep opening the door, but based on our recent ineptitude, we're incapable of doing what's required. That's the worst thing of it all.
