It's just crap the way it's gone that some fans see trophys as ok or nice while finishing 4th, 20-30 points behind the leaders with what is not even a guarantee of more than 2 qualifying games as a reward is seen as a great season!

Just meant it generally not at you. Winning stuff and getting to finals are your best days/nights as a fan not getting £30m in the clubs coffers then getting tanked by Barca next season. I get the argument about future money, attracting better players which in turn increases trophy chances etc but that comes with no guarantees the money will be spent right or the right players are suddenly out there and willing to come. And you could easily argue that winning breeds winning and would be far better for our current group than finishing 4th and winning nothing.

But it shouldnt be about one or the other anyway, we are capable of doing both.

It really has, no CL = no top players = our top players not wanting to stay = becoming Villa.

That is all well and good (although I disagree with the becoming Villa bit - think that's somewhat melodramatic), and I don't have any problem whatsoever with people preferring the CL thing. It's a hard decision to choose one (out of that and the cup(s)).

But I'd also put forward that: No cups = ****ing boring. Winning cups = ****ing great.

Both of those were top flight opponents

they were indeed but we still should have beaten them especially Palace after a 9-0 earlier in the season

the reality is if we constantly dont hit top 4 then we will decline.

the best players want CL they will many wont take not being in it for 1 year so imagine if we havent had CL for the next year andthe year after do you really think that suarez and pepe would still be here?
