Do you really believe that I would have been very very critical if Kenny had used the same system and helped Adam the whole season?

I have moaned because we didn't played with enough movement. Kenny corrected that now.

I have moaned because he didn't help Adam out. He corrected that this time.

I have moaned because he played Downing. He benched him this time.

I have moaned because he played Henderson out of position. He now played Kuyt instead and he can help out the right fullback much better and help chasing the ball much better than Henderson can.

I have moaned because he played Carroll that isn't good enough chasing the ball, he isn't mobile enough. He benched him this time.

In short. I don't have any reason to moan because Kenny corrected the mistakes I have moaned about. Everyone of them.

I don't think you can make that conclusion as he also bought Maxi more into the middle in the second half and AVB had moved Mata central and altered the way they were playing. In that context the changes (Downing for Maxi, Henderson for Bellamy) were potentially reactive but not in an Adam-centric manner.

Arguably it was as much to do with Mata dragging Lucas out of position as it was to do with compensating for Adams perceived lack of fitness.

Thanks dww. I started posting something along those lines but then realised I couldn't remember the details of it all, especially the substitutions.

Too often people find things to fit the theory, ignoring all the other factors that don't fit. They don't even dismiss them, they just miss them out completely.

              It gets my goat.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Quite a result considering we lined up with an "out dated" formation that clearly does not work

Neil young makes a valid point, sometimes I feel some fans propose certain theories which may well have some truth in them but they then become dominant in the way that other fans adopt them as fact without critically thinking that there could be other factors at play with regards to percieved weaknesses or strengths in any squad. Ie 4-4-2 does not work in football today.

Liverpool vs Chelsea = Sturridge vs Eccleston?

Why not? Eccleston done the reserves, done the championship loan deals, got pace to burn and played fantastically well in the show-piece reserves match tonight.

He's the one 'youngster' I would like to see in this game (not Sterling, Suso, Coady, etc, not yet anyway).

You should read over some old threads from 08/09 and before. You be surprised what Andy Gray many of the fans thought on here about 442.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

To be fair, i wouldnt call what we played at Chelsea a 'standard' and static 442. What played such a role in us winning, was the fluidity of the system and the ability of Bellamy, Suarez, Maxi & Kuyt to produce intelligent movement and switch positions from time to time.

EDIT - in actual fact, it wasnt 442 at all

                          It was 4231

                          Pepe
                          Johnson Agger Skrtel Enrique
                          Lucas Adam
                          Kuyt Maxi Bellamy
                          Suarez

don't you read zonal marking? 4-4-2, dammit.
