Strange how some people think superstar Sheva will eventually succeed, yet Pennant, after just a handful of starts is "pants"

How is that strange?

Shevchenko was widely regarded as world class, has played and succeeded at the very highest level, and would've been wanted by any club in the world, if they could've afforded him.

Pennant is uncapped, played in a side that got relegated, and didnt have a queue of europe's top clubs wanting to sign him.

On what basis are they comparable?

Point taken but I don't think he was that big a name when he came over, certainly no bigger than Kuyt anyway. Was on the fringes of the Dutch first team with the likes of Kluivert, Bergkamp and Van Hooijdonk ahead of him if memory serves me right?

pennant has little excuse, he has been at a big club before and played in the premiership for a good while.

It still doesnt change the fact that people have written him off, and you describe him as "****" after a handful of games. If you cant give a new player a decent chance then thats up to you. I prefer to make my judgements over a longer period
